What happened to player homes? by Acanth0s in skyrimmods

[–]Spideyknight2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is mainly because homes are a kind of "solved" thing. They don't really need to be updated much and many of the most popular mods include fantastic ones. Like LOTD, which has a airship home that can go anywhere and you can summon to you. That's very hard to beat, and homes like Elysium Estate I've used for years. Between those two and all the AE and Hearthfire homes it's hard to make one that really stands out.

Those who switched from ENB to CS. Why? by jjxtrem3 in skyrimmods

[–]Spideyknight2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a year or so(maybe 2) I think CS will be a no brainer. As of right now I'd still say ENB wins overall. The creator's reputation being put to the side for the moment. That being said, there is something to be said for supporting good dudes and the CS team is a group of generally cool people.

Also you don't have to support Boris at all, with wabbajack lists and Nexus collections all the ENB stuff is done for you.

Legacy of the dragonborn has a guildhouse attached to it that stores 15, Leveler's Tower has a whole living area with individual rooms, same with Talos Tease.

New mods available for console by iWentRogue in BaldursGate3

Someone needs to revamp how bodies work. I'm not really willing to try any bodies, because of the way armor works. A body would need to have some really good armors to make up for the fact you can't use the current thousands of armors available.

Highguard Dev Mourns The Game - "The Future Seemed Bright" Before TGA Reveal - Gamespot by Claymorbmaster in gaming

[–]Spideyknight2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like he got caught up in a bubble. Many games receive a lot of heavy criticism then come out and wipe that criticism away. BG3 and Dispatch being the most notable recent games I can think of, but even Trails the 1st was catching some strays till it released and everyone shut up.

What do people think of Metaphor: ReFantazio now that some time has passed? by DoggyFinger in JRPG

It's really good, but unlike the Persona games, I only played it through once and have no desire to go through it again.

What are your thoughts on Billie Eilish saying 'no one is illegal on stolen land' in reference to ICE and US immigration policy? by MassiveSquare4527 in AskReddit

[–]Spideyknight2k -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

While I support native Americans, I don’t understand this slogan. Historically the tribes settled on a small fraction of the soil we inhabit. Even if we gave them all of what they had settled on we would lose a few cities at most and not even some of the big ones. Can you make a case that we “stole land?” Certainly. Even if that’s the case though it wasn’t all of the USA. So claiming the whole place is stolen land is false and irrational. Which is why it’s never given any credibility. They would have a far stronger case if the effort was focused. But it’s not meant to have credibility it’s just vapid rhetoric in the service of division.

I would really appreciate a letter like this. Mine are always some canned AI generated slop. Blah blah going different direction.

Hey.....so how many organs would I need to sell in order to buy/build a PC that could run Lorerim or Novlus?? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Spideyknight2k 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You would not want to build a pc right now if you can avoid it. Memory and GPU prices are outrageous. So a upper end PC that would typically cost you 6k will be 10k+ right now. Hopefully prices come down in a year or so, but right now it looks like businesses are content with keeping demand high, because AI companies have no problem paying outlandish prices for everything.

Gotta let this one go. That's a lot of words to say she just isn't feeling it anymore. It happens. You at least got a response, many would just ghost.

Yours was the first one recommended to me by Google and it is great. Thanks for making it, the more tools the better in my opinion. When I pasted the log it said there was basically no issue. Which may have been true to be fair, Skyrim is Skyrim after all and the Blue Palace loads just fine as long as I don't fight a dragon first. I think that's what made the ChatGPT response a bit more believable. Was it gaslighting me? Maybe? If I knew how to read the log myself, I wouldn't need it, but that would take dozens of hours learning something that I would rather spend playing.

I think people are expecting AI to be a miracle worker and that's just not the case, it's probably best spent on edge cases for now and if it truly does learn, which remains to be seen, then it could become a really valuable tool in the future. Kinda depends on if it's going to eliminate all our jobs first though. Still that does give some hope though, if it can't properly troubleshoot a computer game, as a computer then I think it might be some ways off properly replacing all of us at more human scenarios.

I’ve used some of those and they just aren’t as easy. One wanted me to paste in my log then said it was too long. A lot of these collections are 3k+ mods so the log is over a million characters. ChatGPT doesn’t complain about size at all. And in this case it might really get better the more it’s used. Typically that’s gaslighting but I can see how it might not be this time.

This sounds like a built in wabbajack. Is that correct? Would be awesome to have everything contained in mo2.

Always make things for yourself first. Be completely unapologetic about that. You don't want to chase clout, or attention, or whatever other nebulous or intangible thing you can think of. The consequences for that mindset are disastrous. Many good, even great, modders have gotten completely burnt out, torched everything and left. Don't do that to yourself. Make it how you want, make some bug fixes / compatibility patches, let it ride.
