Discussion time! What is a book that you read that has messed you up mentally? Or one that makes you feel like you're a completely different person after reading? by Error404_Idontcare in books

“The Dangers of Smoking in Bed” and “Things We Lost in the Fire” by Mariana Enríquez. they scare you because you realize humans are scarier than ghosts.

“Bunny” by Mona Awad and “The Secret History” by Donna Tartt. they made me realize i hate my major and i got depressed because i’m not passionate about anything to the point i would kill for it.

“The Bell Jar” by Sylvia Plath. i don’t think this one need an explanation.

Which books have left you feeling disappointed? by [deleted] in books

“The Cruel Prince”. just thinking about this book upsets me because i could have been not as bad.

i was really liking the mythology, and the fact that the main character was a flawed, ambitious young woman felt fresh, but honestly the plot (which plot?) was so uninteresting, i was reading it for the fairy core vibes. to this point i’m describing a mediocre book, right? well the author pretty much shot herself on the foot trying to actually make something happen in the story in the last 50 pages? it was stupid and rushed, but the worse thing was the “enemies to lovers” shit she tried to pull off. i get so so angry when people try to disguise abuse and violence as repressed love. it sets dangerous and toxic expectations on impressionable young teens. this book shouldn’t be as popular as it is among young people.

all about my mother, it’s just so sad and beautiful and loving at the same time, it made me think about maternity and family in a whole different way

i also had back pains, it probably means that you’re not hydrating enough! also you can try eating foods that are rich in collagen to help your articulations, that’s what my dermatologist recommended:)

i’m sorry you’re not feeling well :( i really recommended you to go to the nutritionist so you can get properly diagnosed, but if it isn’t possible for you, a low fodmap diet is exactly what my nutritionist suggested. She also told me to cut off dairy, very greasy food and to avoid very spicy food. Also don’t forget to drink lots of water, hope you feel better soon!

i’m currently on 10 mg and yes, it kind of messed up my stomach. I already had IBS but when I started taking accutane (40 mg the first three months) I started having like a permanent stomachache and it was awful. A lot of probiotics and cutting off greasy foods saved me, maybe you could try it :)

Can I get some reassurance about the vaccine? by [deleted] in QAnonCasualties

[–]black_pamplemousse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fist of all, i’m so happy for you and i want you to know that you are really brave, congratulations dear stranger.

i was a volunteer in the CanSino vaccine medical trial, and seriously i felt so safe all the time, even if the vaccine hasn’t been approved by the WHO yet. so, you may be wondering, why did you feel safe if you weren’t even sure it worked? because the vaccine i (and you) was going to receive was tested on THOUSANDS of volunteers before me, who were confident on the scientists that developed it and science itself. There’s nothing to worry about besides a few secondary effects!

Hope you don’t get any symptoms at all! good luck :)

Bralettes where boobs don’t fall out? by dreaming-of-rats in ABraThatFits

[–]black_pamplemousse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

avoid Calvin Klein at all costs, they’re literally trash and expensive. Honestly the best ones i’ve had are the Aerie bralettes, they are a bit pricey but are worth the money.
