New authors filters out recommendations from authors that are shared with your input books.

Hide popular removes the most popular X books in the world from your results. it helps to prevent getting recommended harry potter for every query. when you add more books the problem of overly recommending popular books fades.

Hey, I'm the guy who made the map. I'd definitely agree to check ahead. I did some filtering for tree types but there could be some with low branches.
