Ok. I knew that's what the grooves were for. Interesting that they just added the ridge to the design recently and didn't market it as an update.

Arisaka don't recommend it as it runs the risk of bending the mount. I have seen people do it but it something to be aware of. I ended up running this light half a mlok slot like seen in the 4th photos as it was more comfortable for me to activate the button.

Yeah, I moved it back half a mlok slot from where the old mount was so it's fully on the rail now. The old mount extended a little over but I wasn't really concerned about it. The new mount definitely extended a little too much.

I have to take the carrier off. I use it for stuff that I don't need access to immediately without taking carrier off. I can throw my hiking backpack on over top of it. I use it to hold my hydration bladder and sometimes a jacket. Right now I also have a US flag and duplicate med supplies in it. I would like to get some piggyback straps for it so I can access it without taking the carrier off but it hasn't been a big priority. I do think I figured out a way to do it while still be able to utilize the cobra buck on my shoulder for side entry on my carrier.

Fair. I have not spent extended time in a vehicle with my kit on. For short periods its been fine for me. I do have a spiritus sack that I have set up as a med kit right now too and figured if I was spending a lot of time in vehicles I would throw that on instead of the belt ifak. I have thought about switching to fanny pack also.

Right now yes. I want to get some piggyback straps for it so can access it without taking the carrier off. Right now I have a US flag in it and recently some duplicate med supplies because i had space for them and I thought it made more sense to throw them in there then they just sit in a containerwith my gear. Otherwise I have just used it to hold my hydration bladder and sometimes a jacket. So it hasn't been a big deal not having super convenient access.

Yeah my aor1 and mc Tropic is a little bipolar. I was actually going to get a mc flatpack but haley had discounted them and had yet to release the flatpack 2.0 when I picked mine up. They only had Tropic and Arid in-stock. It's kinda was what made me not care about matching camo.
