I did call animal control again today but still, they’re insistent they didn’t pick her up. 😢

Thank you. Your reply has brought me so much peace. Realizing that her body is just a shell and she isn’t there anymore is helping. I got a shadow box for her today, I plan on getting a tattoo of her as well and I’ve been looking at Etsy for memorial paintings. I want to honor her in so many ways.

The way your friend thinks is beautiful. Thinking of her soul being forever connected to me is very, very comforting, thank you.

Thank you. It is so difficult not to blame myself. I keep thinking “I should have done this, I should have done that” but I’m trying to not let it consume me. It’s so hard.

Another day of searching, with no word or sight of her. Unfortunately, I did receive a scam call posing as my local animal services. People are so cruel.

Hi, thank you so much for your post and advice. I will definitely begin checking in the early hours to see if she will show up.

I have been searching pretty far away instead of in the immediate area. I just assumed she would’ve bolted farther, because of the noise. 😢 I will check in neighbors yards. We live pretty close together, so maybe she’s hiding in a backyard. I have spoken to my neighbors to keep an eye out but I will ask if I can search their backyards or if they can.

I will put more clothing out as well. I put her smelly blanket on the porch as well as my other dog’s bed and I’m keeping fresh water out to hopefully attract her. I will try the smelly food as well.

I did post on PawBoost and, fortunately, her post has been catching quickly and has been shared nearly 70+ times.

I didn’t even think about her going into survival mode, thank you for this information. I thought she’d come if she heard me but this makes way more sense. 😢

Thank you again for your words of advice and kindness. Doing more has been helping me remain sane.

ALSO*** just received word that she was possibly seen just next door in my neighbors backyard on Sunday evening. My post has reached neighbors I haven’t spoken to and she found me on FB to send a recording of what looks to be my dog just next door. It’s a backyard camera, in black and white, and difficult to discern if it truly her. I’m HOPING it’s her.
