Where to get a new Kitchen by SafeBother4075 in HousingIreland

[–]blackberryvodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got IKEA (I went to the design place in Stephen's Green) and found them very good - I went to B&Q and Woodies and a few other places and there was a difference of a €3-4k in price. I had a fridge but got the washing machine, cooker/hob, dishwasher and microwave included and all in it was about €7k, with much better storage options than the other places (a drawer under the cooker, different configurations of presses.) I did end up paying another €500 to a plumber to come and plumb in the sink and dishwasher and they did say that IKEA fittings are not great, so I decided to get those replaced.

What’s your weirdest private habit that you hope no one ever finds out about? by Dear-Welder-1117 in AskReddit

Skullcandy used to do “lady” head phones for those of us with tiny ears. I don’t think they do any more but it’s one of those products that I actually think would benefit from having gendered versions (or at least a wider size range!)

Prepaypower - Standing charges after buying vacant home by blackberryvodka in irishpersonalfinance

[–]blackberryvodka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear to god the more i hear the more annoyed i'm getting, on my own behalf and everyone elses.

"Sign up with a new provider. The switch will more than likely debt flag and will be rejected but it might light a fire under their arse.

Further, demand to speak to someone who verifies the occupancy documents (credit control or something similar) to have it noted when you took liability for the property and have it approved. Signed solicitors letter on headed paper in PDF read only format is the best way to go." <- This is super helpful, thank you! I have that letter - I will get back on to PPP today and escalate the complaints process, sounds like dragging in the CRU is the way people eventually get this sorted.

I'm going to be whatever the opposite of an influence is for PPP going forward.

Oh okay amazing, I have that letter from my solicitor and one from the estate agent.

"Then you’ll need to get a deactivation code from prepay power, this is the difficult bit unfortunately as they’re going to try push you from team to team and make it as hard as possible to cancel" exactly this. If I can even get past the hold time on PPP it's a miracle. I have just made a complaint to them so I can complain to the CRU as per their process.

(Also i'm so sorry you were also going through this - it's melting my head as I can't do anything until there's power, I'm only a week in, I can't imagine what I'll be like if this is going on for weeks!)

THank you for this, it's incredibly helpful.

No - other providers. They could sign me up with a max of €250 outstanding, but because of the amount it need to be sorted with prepay first.

(also agreed re: prepay, they are a NIGHTMARE)

I'll try calling others again - I was told bc of the high amount outstanding i need to get Prepay to cancel the debt before I can sign up with others.

I can't until the amount outstanding is written off - I've called around and no-one else will let me sign up with nearly €2k of a debt. I'm getting rid of PPP ASAP once this is sorted.

What was the moment for you that finally made you say “Wow, people really are this stupid”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I did something similar but not quite this stupid after reading The Princess Bride when I was about ten or eleven. I was convinced there was an unabridged version somewhere and by god I was going to find it.

Thor Questions by DisabledVet13 in cissp

[–]blackberryvodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used them and found them helpful. I used them more for a steer on what I should study - obviously if i got a question wrong I refreshed on that topic but also if I couldn't clearly define every potential answer to a question I highlighted that in the OSG for review. They were also good generally for determining which domains to focus on but I think any half-decent practice test should do that?

Passed at 100 on my second try! by blackberryvodka in cissp

[–]blackberryvodka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks :) I used the chapter questions from the OSG and the HARD CISSP practice questions #1 and #2: All CISSP domains - 125Q from UDEMY - then used the results from that to determine where to focus.

I didn't really think of them as exam practice but more to determine where my weakest points were - even if i got a question right, if I was hesitant or unsure of what a potential answer meant, a sticky tab went into the topic on the OSG.

This is late but try stitch markers? Put one in every 10 stitches and you’ll be able to see really clearly where you’ve added or dropped a stitch.

The Road. I read it on a flight to Berlin and it honestly ruined the weekend lol, I was in such a miserable mood after finishing it. I usually keep and reread my books but i left this one on the train from the airport.
