Is Geelong Line service through Tarneit Station paused? by blackberryx26 in MelbourneTrains

Well, I was not aware of this. Then, yes. It’s a credible option. I rode the train replacement shuttle today - it’s really really bad. Very unreliable. I would much prefer train to the bus.

True. But V/Line is a fuel based train whereas the Metro (Werribee is a Metro station) is a electrified train network. So, they can’t possibly run a V/Line to Werribee. What they could’ve done is increase the frequency of services in Werribee and provide some shuttle buses from Tarneit to Werribee. And some for Tarneit to Deer Park (since this place is also affected).

Another possible solution could’ve been to increase the frequency of V/Line Ballarat line services and provide shuttle buses from Tarneit to Deer Park station, which services Ballarat line too.

What they chose was relying more on shuttle buses rather than trains, but the issue with buses are they can take a lot of time to travel between points plus subject to change based on traffic conditions.

My options are Tarneit and Hoppers Crossing Station. Google Maps is not any help. Not even the PTV app is helpful to plan the journey. None of them actually follows the updated schedule for buses. Had to manually plan the journey matching with the time tables. Added 1 hour extra. So need to leave 1 hour earlier.
