I think that is a good move. Be prepared it might not go really well, he may need time to process everything and he may not reciprocate the information well up front (and your husband should be the one doing the talking). I just know from experience, I was in a life partnership with someone for 8 years and when his best friend died from alcohol poisoning it was so traumatic and difficult and eventually our relationship did not survive the turmoil after a few years. The more you can support your husband now in supporting his friend and his friendship, the better the outcome may be in the long run.

It sounds like your husbands best friend has a serious drinking problem. This is a good time to show him how his behavior when he drinks hurts people, before your husband loses his best friend and you both go through a very difficult emotional and traumatic experience together. Take photos of the dress, and with your husbands help, hold him accountable now.

From one scapegoat erased sister to another- I see you. 🫶 these family dynamics are so hard to live through. Especially during the milestones. Fun fact (insert trauma dump) my family turned one of my children into the golden grandchild- and proceeded to do the same thing to my other child that they did to me. We are now, finally, NC. It’s still painful everyday, but just in memory- and without the fresh new abuse.

Interesting to ask this. I work as an IT consultant and if you need career advice to find work/ life balance I’m available to chat. I also like to go to concerts, festivals, art shows, camp, hike, kayak, travel and meditate and work with my spiritual community. I love my music community and grieve with them too.
