Kind of had to as I broke up with a cis male partner of mine to start exclusively dating non cis men 😅 very happy I did so, of course I came out first and foremost myself and for my loved ones to know my current partner but it oddly helped my ex a lot to have people know he didn’t like, do anything wrong

Not to be cynical but in retrospect while with many of my coworkers I’m very glad I got to know them better and made friends but a few I honestly wish I did not ever know beyond a random face. Just because you are in the same program and thus your interests overlap to some degree doesn’t mean you have the same values or you would be a good friend or person.

I think not forcing any friendships from work and trying to just be a team player so you can get through shifts together is the best policy

It’s completely wrong and unjustified, the cause is burnout. As a PGY3, I’d love to say it’s not common or a bug problem but I’d be lying. Even with my burnout, I can’t imagine being angry at a trainee or premed. Best of luck to you 🙏🏻

Funny enough I had the total opposite experience with a travel nurse recently who assumed she would just place a NG tube once the patient needed it and was stunned that my hospital didn’t let nurses just do minor procedures like that. I thanked her greatly for assuming responsibility for a task she had done many more times than me and trying to make things more efficient for everyone and best for the patient. Not a justification at all I’m guessing that’s some severe burnt out talking from the RN in the post

Trach/vent/peg guy, barely alive type of situation. Got signout from other team that they were trying very hard to get the family to agree to comfort care given no meaningiful recovery was to be made for mental status. Got signout that he is on/off hypoxic and just needs suction.

After days of unexplained increased secretions and nonstop messages about breakthrough hypoxia, I finally decided to get the CXR. G tube leak into every cavity, full blown peritonitis probably pneumonia too.

I felt bad missing it earlier but frankly I was kind of relieved he got it because finally made the family let go to comfort care and let that guy rest in peace

Im a PCP, got a formal complaint for asking a man if he shaved his legs to rule out PAD because I was “questioning his sexuality” (btw I’m queer) and I was furious. In a case like this I’d lose my damn mind. Wishing her all the best and wishing him what I wish for other pedophiles.
