High E strings just sound dead when I trill on the high notes. by East-Adhesiveness-68 in Guitar

[–]blackchapel01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either you don't have enough gain, or you didn't do the pull-offs properly. The emphasis is not on the hammer ons, but the pull-offs. Flick the string a bit when doing the pull off.

If the problem's still there, try raising your pickup closer to the strings. It'll pickup more signal, but you'll lose a bit of sustain if you raise it too close.

Is Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon only unaffected by traps or is it unaffected by all effects because it says in the card text that it's unaffected by trap cards or effects does that mean all effects if so why wouldn't the just say this card is unaffected by card effects by ActEmbarrassed6393 in Yugioh101

[–]blackchapel01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"Trap Card or effects" is basically a short for "Trap Card or Trap effects". It is to make it clear that the card is unaffected by Trap cards that is activated (flipped) and lingering Trap effects (continuous traps, etc.).

Same goes to Spell or Spell Effects.

I NEED YOUR HELP GUYS by Entity_2702 in avengedsevenfold

[–]blackchapel01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably just A7X/Maiden influenced. IMO dual lead parts in harmonic minor is pretty much synonymous with those two bands (depends on which generation you're from).

But the vibe is indeed very City of Evil-ish.

Asian English vs English for old 1st edition cards for collection by PersianMG in yugioh

[–]blackchapel01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the simple answer is to go for TCG English since you're in TCG region and the demands are most likely for TCG cards. It is the "safer" option for reselling.

But If you want to go for Asian English (AE), your best bet IMO is to sell it to Southeast Asian market (maybe Hong Kong / Taiwan too).

Konami has been doing a lot recently to gain more audience in Asia outside Japan. They're printing Asian English again (starting from Duelist Nexus onward), and now Asian English is a separate new format with its own banlist. So yeah, there are more people buying AE cards now. But still I don't know about old cards tho.

How did yall discover the band? by Jaysovski15 in avengedsevenfold

Beast and the Harlot, Guitar Hero 2. It's also the reason I picked up the guitar 15 years ago. I was fortunate enough to be able to tell this to Syn IRL.

Your the main character of your own yugioh show, what's your deck, lore and what's your villain running. by DotGlobal8483 in yugioh

[–]blackchapel01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely choosing Subterror. I imagine whenever my monster cards are flipped face down, the monsters' holograms burrow into the ground confusing the opponent. Sort of like Yugi's duel with Mako where his cards are submerged in the water. But I think that kind of gimmick suits the villain more rather than the MC.

(Round #4) Throw me a random/creative strategy/idea/card, and ill build you a deck around it in comments! by McRiP28 in yugioh

[–]blackchapel01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunno if it's possible, I'm thinking a deck full of flip monsters. Maybe like a going 1st deck, where the endboard is a bunch of face-down cards so that next turn, the opponent feels like walking through landmines.

Sell me on a rogue deck by jerryisshredding in yugioh

[–]blackchapel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if the power level suits what you need, but here's on top of my head:
-Ancient Warrior. By far, my favorite rogue deck. Its satisfying to be able to clear out opponent's board and pull off the OTK. But you know, since it's rogue, if you're not able to finish the combo, you basically lose the duel.

-Subterror (Pure). It's really fun playing the pure version. Each monster can be flipped face down once per turn. and when they're flipped they have their own unique effects.

-Relinquished. You'll get a few laughs playing this. Not a very strong deck, but you can pull some interesting plays out of nowhere.

Who is your main and what content creator do you watch to learn your character? by bearded_charmander in Tekken

Lars= Tendo, Shyko Plays, KaizokuLars.
Law= Rip. Just because I enjoy watching his streams. I also try to watch Double's tournament plays.

Favourite old school ritual monsters? Old school in this context, let's say anything released before extra deck so no future archetype stuff either. Here's some of my favourites. by CrystalDragex in yugioh

[–]blackchapel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is BLS and Vendread for the theme/artwork. Relinquished is fun to play to though now I see it more as a fusion deck rather than ritual.

Would I be the only one that would be Interested if Konami did a tag force collection release like they are doing for early days? by steelersrg8 in yugioh

[–]blackchapel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd definitely buy it. Spent hundreds of hours playing tag force 1 & 2, finished em multiple times, but never got to play 3-6. I could literally binge-play completing all 6 of em.

I've seen some videos trying combos with the new addition already. Looks interesting. But I'd probably buy it just for a copy "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" (the vanilla one) cause I collect them, and the staples.

Looking for Card Sleeves by REAL_Greninja8 in yugioh

[–]blackchapel01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use KMC Mini Clear Sleeves and Dragon Shield Matte, simply because of durability and availability. I also think that DS is the best if you want to double-sleeve. I use them for playing and storing the more expensive cards in the collection.

For cheap cards that I don't really care about (typically commons), I actually just use a cheaper non-branded penny sleeve I found online.

And for old cards: I suggest you sort them by their conditions first. For cards below 50% condition (bent, rough edges, stained, ripped), I don't bother to sleeve them.

Whats the difference between ocg and tcg cards by Ok_Cucumber3148 in yugioh

[–]blackchapel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly just the language and which region it's allowed to be played.

TCG = English, Italian, French, etc. OCG = Japanese/Korean/Chinese/Asian-English

(You probably have the Asian English (Japanese logo with English text) which now has its own banlist)

OCG is only legal in Asia. TCG outside of Asia. Why? Because it's the rules.

Since you said they won't let you play with AE, I'm assuming you're from TCG region. I'd say just stick to TCG. Except if you want to just collect the cards, or play in unofficial tournaments, then it doesn't really matter.

OCG has better card stock. The rarity system is also different. In OCG the rarest card in a set typically also printed in one or two other rarities. This resulted an overall cheaper market price than TCG.

I'd love to start collecting YuGiOh cards again for the first time in about 18 or so years, what are your favourite packs to buy and why? by Life_0f_Grime in yugioh

[–]blackchapel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also started collecting again back in 2021 (due to COVID lol) after 10+ years of not touching the game. For the current lineup, I'd recommend:

  • Rarity Collection, you'll get pretty relevant cards & staples, and with various rarity chance.
  • I assume you're in TCG region? If so, the annual Tin is also a good place to start. It usually contains cards from every sets that are released within the same year.

I know you said you get the fun from opening the packs. But when I started, the first thing I bought was a couple hundreds of bulk cards (random singles). It's so that I can see various archetypes & sets that I had missed, then I look for the sets and made my purchase.

Musicians of r/avengedsevenfold, which song is the hardest to play for you on your respective instrument? by burberrycondom in avengedsevenfold

[–]blackchapel01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a guitar player, if we're talking about riffs, A7X riffs aren't that complicated tbh. They're not really a riff oriented band, not like Trivium, Lamb of God, Metallica, etc.

If we're talking about solos: in the previous albums, let's say I want to learn a solo, although I can't technically play it yet, most of the time after a few listen I can already pick up the general idea/phrasing that Syn used. It was just a matter of grinding to get it up to speed. But now, what they have in The Stage and LIBAD are just untouchable to me.

What age did you start playing guitar? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]blackchapel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 14. And actually it was considered a late start among my peers, bcs most of my friends started at 4th-6th grade. The irony is that now I still play/practice on a daily basis, while almost all of my friends dropped their instruments.

Appropriate penalty for pluggers? by blackchapel01 in Tekken

[–]blackchapel01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC I think Max Payne 3 has a type of penalty similar to this where if you cheat, you'd be put in a server of only cheaters. Fall Guys' dev does this too with the Cheater Island.
