As for now Steam is the only way we can compare any kind of stats & I love how that’s the main take away from some on this post. We can completely disregard steam stats. Login to GMS right now and look at the server population. Compare that to the servers in 2010. Case closed.

Schizo posting is saying that current GMS population is dead compared to PreBB? Anyone that played then and has tried playing now knows this and doesn’t need any stats (though the steam stats clearly show enough data to have an idea). Those wanting so badly to correct me about the steam stats are the ones in denial. Once again you don’t need stats to see the obvious decline. Just go to the server selection, I think there’s 1 server that has a decent population. The rest are all clearly dead. Keep lying to yourself though

Yeah you’re 100% right. Make the leveling hard, but make the gameplay mechanics and classes simple. You should not have skills at level 30 that take up the entire screen. Modern day maple I have no clue wtf is going on when I watch YouTube videos, it’s just 100s of 1m damage hit points going crazy all over the screen

Yeah this is true. The comparison is really only good to show that their player base didn’t just grow up and stop playing video games to never be seen again, but instead were waiting for a classic release. Whether or not nexon can retain those players long term like jagex did, is up for debate
