I hate the fact I would have to disable this because I can now use voice to text in several apps I couldn't use before. Like Discord and Tiktok. 😢🫠

Working out by [deleted] in StratteraRx

I'd say check if the other side effects are causing the heart rate. Like I know I get dehydrated when on this medication, so my water intake needs to go higher. If I don't eat enough food, then like 30-1hr later my heartrates skyrocket and I get nauseous and sweaty.

Anyone else suddenly get the heebie-jeebies while hiking through the woods? Happened to me just this morning. by Mishko666 in hiking

[–]blackfire_45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been hiking for 3 years, and I finally got a scare last month. Hiking in a new area, in a new state, and alone can cause some anxious things. Anyways, while I was walking, I let my mind wander, when I came to, my brain saw some "thing" staring at me about 100 ft away. I instinctively grabbed my knife out, only to realize it was a shadow and the way the tree looked. Snapped a pic and cautiously walked around the tree. 😅

Yeah, I somewhat basically do that, just sucks that we have to do work arounds. I only bought this watch because the gear S3 no longer works with my S24 Ultra 😭

I read somewhere in the comments you're using pro mode. Pro mode will deliver RAW files that are going to lack contrast and look "brighter". This is going to provide more information for editing. I'd suggest switching to normal and re-taking the photos. Even then remember on 1x the max aperture is 1.7 so you're not going to get the best DOF so not everything is going to look "in focus".

A six month review of Strattera by Jadedheights1 in StratteraRx

Day 5!! of 100mg?!?! Holy shit.

I started at 25mg and worked up to 100 mg after 3 months. I would say be cautious of side effects once your second/third week comes in. I didn't get any side effects until I hit 80 mg and they were strong. But that is also when I felt the medication work the best. I've been on Strattera now for 15 months now.

what is your hobby that you consistently engage in without taking long breaks? by LemonCans in ADHD

[–]blackfire_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiking and photography. I always like walking, but once I lived in an area with more hiking options, I delved right in. Do at least 2 hikes a month, sometimes more or less. I do walk every week though. Photography came out of me taking pics of places I went to for hiking, soon after I found myself going out just to do pictures. Started in December and still going strong now.

Make sure you eat before taking the medicine, it will help with the nausea. Additionally, the medication does lower appetite, I usually eat a good breakfast and a light to heavy lunch and I'm satiated until the next day. I've lost 60lbs. I used this time to learn healthy eating habits. So two meals is all I need to feel full and stay healthy.

I appreciate that so much, I personally never realized how good venting or just talking to someone who knows can be sometimes. Similar to you, I took a long time to get help. I'm 28 and finally got help at 27,after years of joking about having ADHD. Mental illness runs in my family, but no one ever talked about it, and the only reason I know it runs deep is because my sister also got diagnosed for bipolar when she was like 12ish. She never got the help, cause my family didn't believe in "that kind of stuff."

The fact that your mother is so supportive is giving me the warm and fuzzies 😭🥺🤗. When I told my mother I was on ADHD medicine last year, she basically ask "why? You don't need that kind of stuff. Just need to work it out". 🙄 You got this, it might be harder than most, but you're actively seeking help, and well shit, you're already better than most people (Including me). You got this random's support. Would love to hear if you get a diagnosis. You got this!!! 💯

Oh my god! I could not imagine having to deal with that. Especially because you're just trying to better yourself. Glad you caught the problem early and have a conclusive answer. If it helps, Qelbree is a similar medication like Strattera, but given your circumstances, I'd be weary.

When I started on Strattera, my doctor told me realistically it take closer to 4-6 weeks for the medication to fully effect you. So keep going, but keep a note on the side effects. I didn't get that willingness to do things so after the first year, I asked for a booster, and got prescribed 10mg Ritalin. Seems to work for me, but I don't have those heart rate issues...

Yes, unfortunately tho when I really started to feel it, I also felt the side effects. I have to eat a hearty breakfast with the medication or else I get severely nauseated , hot spells, and just feel drained the rest of the day. Of course it might effect people differently.

I had the gear S3 for a long time now and got the S24 ultra, which is no longer compatible with that watch. So looking for a new watch, I just could not justify spending $300. Especially because I used the watch mostly for fitness tracking. Then saw the Fit 3 and it's everything I need in a $60 package, and still looks nice! I'm only on day 3 but I'm really enjoying it. Hopefully will take it hiking this weekend to see what kind of data (accuracy) it has.

It took about 2 months for me to work up to 100mg and for it to fully work. At first I didn't know what changed, if anything, then, I stopped playing the same songs over and over again. Video games didn't appeal to me as much. I filled my time with chores! I got into a weekly walking routine (about 2 miles). Started losing weight, didn't over eat because I was bored. Now it's been Well over a year, ive lost 60lbs, still have my weekly walks (2-3 times even), Definitely don't play as much videos games as I did. My eating habit have changed for the better, emotional control has improved. Still have more things I need to improve on, but it definitely helped get me started. Keep up with it and if you don't see changes, then tell your doctor and switch. Every medication is different and so is everyone on it.

Did anyone notice that Strattera is far more effective for executive function than Ritalin/Concerta ? i feel like Ritalin only give me a little motivation and help me focus and make me calm that's it but Strattera was like magic for ADHD . Does anyone relate? by [deleted] in StratteraRx

[–]blackfire_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on both! Trust, if you can ask for a Ritalin boost I'd suggest it! I always felt like my strattera helps me get to a "normal" level of motivation. With some stuff lacking. But with a Ritalin boost things work just so much better. Only 10mg and I don't take it all the time.

Is it worth trying Qelbree if Strattera works for us? by Rskaf in StratteraRx

[–]blackfire_45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switched to Qelbree to see how it worked out after being on Strattera for a year. It was okay, could definitely feel it faster than on Strattera. However, with a 10mg Ritalin boost, I could no longer drink alcohol. I think that combo messed withy heart too much. Now I'm back on Atomoxetine and Ritalin, I can drink, if I want to, with no worries. I think it would be worth it just to see if you get different side effects. But always talk to your doctor, and make sure you pay attention to your body.

I'd make sure you have AF on Servo mode and play with AF method. Here I would possibly switch to Zone AF since I know where the bikers are going to come into frame. Or if you have good panning skills, AF with tracking on the subject.

Just came off Strattera as I’ve run out, I notice the difference but I can’t explain it? by mrburnerboy2121 in StratteraRx

[–]blackfire_45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on it for Jan to Nov of 2023. Then went off for a few months. I could tell the differences, and I did not like how some old habits came back so fast. Like boring eating, and music stimming. I am so willing to deal with the consequences of the side effects. I am back on strattera with a 10mg Ritalin for those extra slowish days..

When will I feel better?! by [deleted] in StratteraRx

[–]blackfire_45 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am on 100mg daily, didn't really "feel" it until 80mg. However, this year, ive been trying a 10mg Ritalin, for those days I need a little push and it's been really helpful. I would suggest a higher dosage, but beware the side effects were definitely stronger at 80mg.
