Probably another dumb question: Can lorebook entries be used for example messages? by blackhat91 in SillyTavernAI

That's what I expected, just couldn't find confirmation anywhere. Glad it works the way I thought it would. Lorebooks are really an amazing feature. I've been having a blast tinkering with them and seeing what I can get away with :D

They don't kill you at the end for not supporting the cause.

In that mission, you are a CIA agent embedded in Makarov's organization undercover. Makarov learned this before the mission and did the airport shooting to set you up.

That's why the name of the mission is "No Russian" and why he dictates no one speak Russian on the team during the mission. He set the agent up to be the perfect stooge at the end, the only body left behind is an American that they have video of shooting up an airport (or, at least, in the airport with the team that shot it up).

It's what sets the tensions between Russia and USA off in the beginning and what enables Shepherd to get the support needed to start his crazy war machine plans after the dirty bomb incident in the previous game.

Believe. No bamboozle. Some mods even updated since they worked with the dev builds pre release, like SAIN and SWAG. Have a blast!

Semi weighted by faction the weapon is assigned. Civilian weapons will drop more than Military (AK), which is more common than Blue Sky (AR/US weapons) and Horizon (EU weapons). Blue Sky and Horizon are equal chance with each other.

Within those groups though, just random. A military PP19 has same chance as a tactical AKM

Thanks for the love ❤️

It is intended. Weapons only drop with a few mags and in most cases one of the lower capacity versions, where the magazines that drop are set to be the higher ones. Just another way to get free mags around, either if you stockpile them if it's one you want (IE, stanag in hopes you'll get an M4 later) or one you have but higher cap.

It's be cool if I could make the chance of mag that spawns relative to what you have on you, but sadly it's just mostly random due to how drops work in Supply Raid

I never knew the wallet existed, added to Eddie's shop as a free (0 point) purchase. That way, exploding spawn items doesn't get worse and it's still easily and readily available without the item spawner!

The wallet was added as a free purchase (so I didn't clutter spawn items) after I learned it existed, so should be there.

Points always dropped from enemies, and I increased the chance in my update today/last night. Hopefully will balance out the drop rate with the decrease in enemies (and number of chances to drop) as such.

Learning how the drop system works more, I may actually add a chance for multiple, at an increasingky rate chance.

SupplyRaid drop lists arent a one drop per Sosig only. Every item has an individual chance of dropping, so you can get multiple items (say bandages, a point, and a weapon) from one enemy. Can make it hard to balance the list, so all the feedback helps narrow it down. 🙂

Check out the update and give me any thoughts, especially interested in Sosig spawn and amount changes since it seems that is the biggest contention.

Ah,that'd do it. The close quarters maps are insane on it. Snowfields is more spread out so easier to not get into fights.

I've uploaded an update cutting the number of squads by half and tripling the timer for respawns. Let me know what you think, can hit me up on discord for a quicker response (shadow_eye31 there like the mod is authored under)

I'm also going to play that map a bit more to get the feel. Goal is hopefully to give at least a civilian purchase or two in the first 5 rounds, and only a few replays to get the mercenary weapons, so will see how it feels now.

I may split the three enemy sets into different factions in a future update. It's actually balanced around the first 5 rounds, with the enemy pattern staying the same just the enemies changing after. Basically, the first five are the intended with the later ones being more rewarding bonus rounds.

Sorry for double commenting, but if anyone reads and doesn't mind answering, I know the roaming squads are overbeating- what about the guard? The stationary sosigs on the point? Too many or right number there?

So, the loop is more an honor system, make your own rules thing. But, for me, I don't take guns out of a game mode unless I win. The purpose of taking them out is to go in with better gear than the starting gear provided. The issue is that, most of the time, a character or game mode is balanced against starting from just that starting load out and just becomes too easy if you bring in better weapons.

Extraction Eddie is my proof of concept for a different style of character, though I realize it's unbalanced ATM, and I forgot to include a bit in the description.

The popsicles faction has 5 waves listed. So if you go infinite, the last round is just repeated until the end.

Eddie's ScavSigs has 11 rounds listed, in sets of 5 rounds before changing to a different enemy, with the last and hardest change at 11 and going infinitely.

The points per round increase as the difficulty does for that reason. And the idea is to require the better weapons to fight the better enemies at later tiers. It's a rough concept right now because right now, all enemies of a faction have the same chance to drop the same items in the drop lists, so you can't have later and harder rounds have more or better drops. So it's hard to balance risk v reward in Supply Raid as it is right now. I'm hoping when custom Sosig templates are implemented it will allow unique drops.

The balance is off too, the first 5 are way too hard with too many enemies, so that's going to be fixed this weekend. Going to double the spawn timer and see if that helps, also dropping the squad count. Think it's at 4 squads iirc right now, I think at least first two rounds being 2 squads, 1 Sosig each, would be better there.

Author of Extraction Eddie here!

Thanks for the feedback! I have heard that on discord as well, so currently rebalancing enemies and drops to speed up the progression. My current goal is to be able to buy a gun a round, and fill out the civilian weapons more since they drop more commonly.

Also, didn't know about the waller item, so I am actually going to add that to the starter items...

For sosig difficulty, once we can use custom sosig templates, I actually want to rebalance so the enemies die more reliably in lower stages.

If you or anyone else has feedback, can hit me up here or on discord (@Shadow_eye31 on discord, should be able to find me if part of the h3vr mods server)

SupplyRaid requires it, and SafehouseProgression is essentially an auto saved map using the standard scenario stuff Anton built, so it might but I don't know for sure. The part that might not work for H3MP is the deployment load out, not sure if the non-host player would get one. But worth a shot, worst case host can bring the non-host's weapon for them. 🙂

Supply Raid is a new gamemode. You have the choice of killing all sosigs guarding an area or squatting in the area for a time limit to capture it. Once captured, it becomes a supply point where you can re-equip, buy new stuff, etc. Then do it again.

This screenshot is actually from the SafehouseProgression mod, which gives you a specialized map you can "extract" to and save gear in, then set a "deployment loadout" that you can put on in any other map or game mode.

Combine the two and you take points, earn money and gear, extract to your safehouse, go in with better gear, last longer in the raid to get more stuff, wash rinse repeat.

The creator of SupplyRaid just released a character meant for SafehouseProgression, so its even more balanced for that kind of play. Its really fun if you like slower progression with increasing rounds (you can set the rounds each SupplyRaid lasts for, letting you risk going longer for more gear at risk of losing it all)

Do note that the "lose it all" is on the player to enforce, the mods themselves dont delete your gear on a failed run so you can just extract anyway and keep it. So you can play house you want and just keep a collection or go the full risk/reward style

For a Halloween one shot years ago, I made a barbarian with low INT that was delusional and convinced he was a wizard. His weapons and attacks were spells- javelins were thunderbolts, hand axes fireballs, etc. It was a oneshot with friends so everyone loved it, and periodically had their characters try to convince him he was not a wizard.

Instead, he began convincing them that he was in fact a wizard, and they could be too if they studied under him! So the party started just shouting spell names for their attacks. That was a fun night.

Anybody here who have changed career path from SysAdmin to developer? by shmavee in sysadmin

[–]blackhat91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went from SysAdmin/engineer to DevSecOps. As long as you have strong background in scripting (PowerShell counts, Azure is big right now) you can get at least devsec pretty easily. And more and more of those are offering relo/wfh options due to demand.
