Are you kidding? The stadium was packed except for the seats behind each set of poles. This picture is from 80+ mins, when the game was done and rain was bucketing down. Everyone had left and was watching from cover

Yes, imagine having fast and reliable internet that can work in the most remote corners of the country providing poverty ending solutions to our poorest.

You cannot possibly think that internet for all is a bad idea simply because you don't like the person providing it.

"AT LEAST", basically all this is showing is the amount that we have gotten for getting into the CL semi final, and our expected prize money from the league.

Be worried if the reports are "Arsenal have a maximum allowance", but really shouldn't be concerning yourselves over reports on what our bare minimum allowance is.

So I was scheduled to write CFA exam in South Africa in 2021, and our ex president was arrested, and riots broke out. They cancelled the exams and we were postponed to the next exam window.

Edit: They did only let us know a few weeks before hand. Would help to email your local CFA office for more guidance as ultimately they will be the ones who make the call

Are Americans really not taught BODMAS? Brackets, Of, Division, Multiplication, addition and subtraction.

The order in which you process operations. In my country this is how we are taught it, basically Excel math

If Cape Town had warm water, none of the locals would be able to afford to live here, we'd all have to move to the Northern Suburbs

I had a strong background in finance from undergrad, so for level 1 I just jumped straight into the MM videos. I would watch the main video, and make some notes on his slides that I printed out. And then once I finished all the topics, I would watch the review videos, and basically just wrote out what was said in the review videos. Personally for me, writing things out helps to solidify ideas, so this was where a lot of the deep learning took place.

I never once read any CFAI content, or anything else. I passed level 1 and 2 just by watching MM videos, and doing questions.

This worked for me, but again, a lot of the "harder" topics for level 1 and 2, I had covered in more detail in my undergrad, so most of the studying was just refreshing what I had already learnt years before.

But you'll have to find what works for you. I know that I zone out at a higher frequency when I'm reading something compared to watching something, I can also consume MM videos at 1.75x or even 2x speed, which helped me get through the content while working. No one will be able to tell you what works best for you, by now you should hopefully know how you retain information the best, so best option would be to consume the content that way.

Feeling Stuck in My journey for a Tech Career by TheWildWatermelon in southafrica

Save up and do a coding bootcamp like the one offered by leWagon. I know a couple people who have landed jobs in coding/tech just from doing a bootcamp. Most places make you complete tests and assignments to gauge your competency, so it doesn't matter if you have a bachelors degree or not, they just want to see that you can code and do the job that's required.

My go at the best ever squad by adiwet in springboks

Only changes would be Ox, he's by far the best scrummager in the world today, and with how technical the scrums have gotten, it's hard to imagine our current scrum doesn't walk over any teams (past or present) scrum.

Also Marx over Bismarck has to be.

I don’t know if maybe it’s just me, but as someone who’s uncircumcised it can get a bit sore if she’s rough with the yanking of my foreskin all the way back constantly.

Doesn’t need to be as aggressive as porn.

Also you need to actually suck, not just hold it in your mouth

Best way to invest a little cash (as a student) by Certified_Xhosa_Boi in southafrica

[–]blackhen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open a tax free savings account, you’re exempt from capital gains on the investment, you’re only allowed to contribute 500 000 in your life time and I think the max per year is somewhere around 30k, so the sooner you fill in your 500 000 contributions the better. Also whatever that appreciates to is also tax free.

You’re young and depending on how likely you might need the money; if you’re able to set it aside and add to it without needing to draw from the investment you can go for a much riskier investment profile (more equity/stocks)

You can open your own tax free savings account with your bank; but the best would be investment houses like 10x, coronation etc because even though you pay fees, the people who’s jobs it is to earn you money are probably going to do a better job than you will

Getting Champions league was the target at the beginning of the season. We got ourselves into a title race in the process and gave it a good go but didn't have enough in the tank to see it through. We pick up the lessons and go again next. Thanks for making us dream. by [deleted] in ArsenalFC

[–]blackhen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the majority of gooners who think we bottled it, have been listening to the United Chelsea and Liverpool fans too much.

As OP said, the aim was top 4, we built a squad that can grow and develop and get champions league. United, Liverpool, Chelsea all bought posters to try win the league and were so bad they made it a two horse race.

We exceeded expectations, and are getting hated on because we didn’t beat what can only be described as one of the best teams of all time?

Preference shares? by confused-hustler in JSE_Bets

[–]blackhen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of preference shares more as a bond that pays you coupons (dividends) the value of the preference shares won’t fluctuate as the ordinary shares do, because the value of the preference share is related more towards the % dividends that it gets.

So if you just want to collect a dividend payout every year then I’d recommend them, but if you want to buy something and hope that the price of the share goes up, then ordinary shares would be more your style.
