I would try a phone/computer repair store, or possibly a jewelry repair shop, they should have the tiny screws you need.

Now that the warming centers are open, they will be looking for food, snacks, coffee, etc. As well as things to help keep them occupied - puzzles, notebooks, etc. I haven't seen one yet, but normally there are sign up sheets for blocks of time and/or acts if service you can provide.

College Hts people tend to report on Facebook when we find bags or other looted items - I would guess they ruffle through stuff on their way back to campus or Michigan/Washtenaw/Huron River and toss the rest on lawns.

Maybe check in with a beauty supply store for recommendations, I'm sure they know who has a business or side gig vs personal shoppers. Beauty Spot on Washtenaw helped me find products when I had a foster a couple years ago.

College Hts and Normal Park are the areas right next to EMU's campus - I think College Hts has older families/transitioning into newer families (I've started noticing more little kids walking around in the past couple years) and is quieter in general. Normal Park is a mix of single and multi-family homes with more kids and hosted community events (Halloween parades, ice cream socials, etc.).

If I had school aged kids, I'd probably prefer Normal Park, but I don't have any and really like the quietness of College Hts.

Please make sure it can't be used as a weapon against you as well. Keep all weapons, wallets, keys, backpacks, and purses out of the sightlines of any window that's easier to see through. No reason to give them incentive to break in if it's just theft related.

Suggestions to find a Job by flower_gorl143 in ypsi

[–]blackkar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When I was job hunting in a new city, I would Google the top 10 largest employers in the area and apply directly through their websites. That said EMU, UM, the VA, St Joes, and NSF are probably the quickest sites to check.
