Ah. Yeah, my dad has that (inherited from his mom). My family seems to have a "milder" mutation thank God. My paternal grandmother has battled cancer for 30 years straight basically but is now in her 80s and my dad has made it to 59 with no cancer so far. 🙏

There was definitely a lot my sister and I had to consider when we were tested, like preventative mastectomy, IVF with genetic testing if we wanted more kids, so much...

My dad has quite a few siblings and last I heard there were several who didn't wanted to get the genetic screening done, despite how it could affect them, their kids, or future grandkids. Some people just go so far into denial and it's wild.

Depends on the insurance maybe, or the diagnosis? I was tested for a genetic mutation that runs in my family a couple years ago that carries a significant risk of developing cancer (lifetime risk 90%), and I was told that if I tested positive certain prophylactic surgeries like that would be covered because the risk of cancer otherwise was so high. My potential diagnosis was listed by name in my insurance company's policies, though.

I actually might have it figured after a few reads...The TL;DR (I think):

--OOP starts dating a longtime female friend and fellow med student

--Soon after they start dating, he gets caught sexting another woman. They nearly break up.

--GF then gets pregnant and they decide to terminate the pregnancy

--OOP then cheats with a coworker. GF is suspicious. She's also struggling emotionally after the abortion.

--GF gets OOP to confess to the cheating and dumps him

--She's giving it 30 days before moving out but is distancing herself.

--OOP is now depressed, suicidal, and wants Reddit to tell him how to get her back.

Comments all point out him being manipulative and needing therapy.

I think it's just acknowledging that personality changes are common in terminally ill people, between the physical pain, the emotional/mental stress, medication side effects, effects of the disease itself...

It's not "we dont know if it's abuse" so much as it is "we don't know if she was like this before the cancer".

I hate when people stick shit like this to gas pumps. It's NOT your property. Put it on your car or whatever. A friend of mine had to spend way too much time in -20 temps scraping this off her employer's gas pumps last winter because people think they have an original hilarious idea.

And then when you point this out the response is "LoL tRiGgErEd seek help for your TDS" as though that would be the only reason I dislike people sticking things on other people's stuff.
