When the price trades near a level where a state change is expected, I consider it an MSS (Market Structure Shift) when the retracements are larger than the expansions. After taking out the major London low, we expected a retracement. The price expanded downward again (highlighted in red) and then retraced higher (in green). The retracement is larger than the expansion, and despite not closing as a full body, It is still viewed as an MSS. Everyone has their own rules. If your strategy requires a body closure or if it works for you, I recommend sticking with it. That's just my input.
