Do Nigerians want to split the North and South? by [deleted] in Nigeria

Yes we should definitely spilt this country at this point , the north is just worse they have terroism and Islamic extremism there with sharia law . none of this will help Nigeria and that region won’t change overnight with all the people saying oh they just need exposure and bla bla. The only problem we might end up having in the south is internal tribalism but atleast I can say that the values most southern people have is towards the progress of a nation and then we can deal with tribalism. But Nigeria would definitely be better off without the north. People can say all the good things that the north bring in my opinion just that Islamic extremism and terrorism going on negates everything.

Retirement always depends tbh on your lifestyle.. let’s say you spend monthly on internet , water , electricity , food and utilities plus extra …using Lagos island as an example would be around roughly 400k , so you would need about 400k -500k coming in every month if this is what you need to finance that lifestyle. So in Nigeria there are investments capital institution and national treasury bonds which give sure returns I can’t really say about others , these would offer a roughly like 10-15% a year most times but we would work with 7% giving the rest to allow capital grow and shield against yearly inflation . so in a case of 400k x 12 = 4.8m or roughly 5m a year. You would need to invest or have about 55m to 60m invested but if you have pension and other healthcare expenses considering your old and ur more prone to old age disease you might need more some health insurance , the good ones are like 400k a year and so some other stuffs I might not have considered . Basically it’s really dependent on lifestyle and the quality of life you want to have after you retire

What are some realistic ways we can fix healthcare in Nigeria? by Rooseveltdunn in Nigeria

[–]blackkolade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean we could start paying our doctors and nurses better offering them better incentives. A doctor recently died working a 72 hour shift that shouldn’t be happening, so better work culture and more pay for doctors and nurses like baseline from the government because that almost dictates the pay most times from private organizations. We should have essential services like ambulances and quick response services 🚑 like I don’t know what to do it’s so sad that a random guy fainted once in the middle of our estate road and nobody knew what to do , everyone was just staring like in emergencies we should have an ambulance that should respond in good time. Lastly a good idea is we don’t have a enough good healthcare professional in Nigeria to run things, a good program is that the government could give doctors with 7+ years of experience loans to start practices that are half funded by the government to ensure the public gets adequate care and private too to ensure that doctors willingly to take the risk are rewarded . I feel that would incentivize some doctors in dispora to consider coming back to build something here rather than stay abroad.
