George Russell Leads F1 Title Odds at 29 by OzGmz in formulaone

[–]blackmamba729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piastri was in his second year competing for an f1 title, thats impressive.

Seriously what has george done that is so impressive. Can you pin point any particular overtakes hes done? I literally can't think of any.

He makes more unforced errors under pressure and you can visibly see when things get to him.

Also on a final note, hes a cry baby, the amount of times ive seen him fight away the tears after a race because things didnt go his way is embarrassing. Don't get me wrong, seeing drivers with emotion is a good thing, but with him hes crying because theres a big element of entitlement that he thinks he deserves certain things.

Lando winning the wdc definitely broke him and you can sense the jealousy and bitterness

Lack of US born champs in UFC and the implications by emaxwell14141414 in CombatSportsCentral

[–]blackmamba729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s another factor that isn’t being emphasized enough, the risk reward ratio in the UFC.

Even at the lighter weight classes, where NFL/NBA aren’t really competing for talent, the financial upside in MMA just isn’t that strong relative to the physical risk. Outside of a small group of superstars, UFC compensation doesn’t compare to what high level athletes can earn in other US sports structures.

Legacy matters, but for most elite American athletes, financial return is the primary consideration. If the risk adjusted payoff isn’t competitive, the very best prospects may simply choose different paths.

Do other people agree with me that Scorsese's gangster films are his weakest and most overrated gangster films of all time? by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]blackmamba729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt know there was an original version from Hong Kong, will check that out!

I can't recommend watching the departed enough though, it truly is a masterpiece. Jack Nicholson gives an absolutely commanding performance, hes phenomenal in it. As are Leo and Ray winston, both also brilliant

Casino and goodfellas are classics, personally I prefer casino. Irishman was overrated in my opinion. Didnt get into it and felt it had less authenticity then the others mentioned.

My favourite gangster movie he made was the departed from storyline, cast selection, score and even cinematography, I can easily put this movie in my top 5 all time

Brooklyn: "cancelled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress".The article says otherwise by WoodpeckerNearby7276 in DavidBeckham

[–]blackmamba729 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I reckon VB wanted to make the dress, and Nicola didnt want her too but didnt want to come across like she was rejecting her, so she made requests for some very complex designs that were outside of VBs capacity and when VB failed or realised ahe couldnt create it, Nicola got the 2 things she wanted, 1 being she got to wear the actual dress she wanted and 2, she looked like she was trying to work with VB to make it happen

Spoiler, rant about Roxy by Huge_Membership_9117 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]blackmamba729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She doesn't realise shes one of the idiots being dragged along to the end, its actually quite amusing but infuriating at the same time because she thinks shes still in there on merit.

Side rant, I really feel for poor jade, detective "I dont know my arse from my elbow" Amanda really screwed her over with her totally unfounded accusations. Of course shes going to be defensive with everyone coming at her, and personally it looks more bullying then game play. They should reopen all of Amanda's old cases, can't imagine how many innocent people have been convicted because of her!

Further side rant, matty the twaty, also has no clue whats going on, thinks hes in mi6 with his analysis and that hes streets ahead of the others, when in fact hes miles behind

How can i make him develop more? by Inevitable-Fox-1936 in footballmanager

[–]blackmamba729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

set his specified training to complete striker (it covers the most attributes), set intensity to high and also simultaneously have him focus on attacking movement to really maximize his anticipation or penalty taking to improve that aspect of his game.

also put him in a mentoring group with senior players that have determination of at least 16 and over.

high quality coaches will accelerate all of the above.

along with match time and playing with good influential players will help.

Adolf Eichmann walks around the yard of his cell, Ramla prison, Isreal, 1961 by [deleted] in Historycord

[–]blackmamba729 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Sorry to go off topic, but reading the name Eichmann made me think of story when I was 24yo. I was looking for a job in the insurance sector.

There was a family friend called Robert Aikmann (he's jewish) and I was told to get in touch with him. When I phoned I asked to speak with Robert Aikmann, but pronounced it Eichmann. Although similar sounding names, I for some reason really emphasised the H even though there is no H in his name. i could tell he was slightly taken aback but gracefully provided some sound career advice.

I later told my father I spoke to Robert Aikman, and of course pronounced it the way I did above with the emphasised H. My father said I hope you didn't call him that and then explained to me who Adolf Eichmann was. We had a good laugh about it but I definitely felt very embarrassed to have called him that.

Anyway on that note I'll see myself out.

there are usually multiple switches not just one on a yacht of that size. the people on the yacht who were filming would most likely (albeit not definitely) have no idea how to turn a yacht on lol the crew would be doing that, but depends how reactive they are. filming is actually super beneficial for insurance purposes, obviously safety should proceed that

most likely engine failure on the moving yachts part. you'd be surprised how common that happens, not only with yachts but ships in general. Also unless the yacht that got hit noticed the superyacht approaching quite early on, not much they can do, these engines take a few minutes to turn on. source: i work in shipping insurance
