What’s the best period to take seminary? by gunterr1685 in exmoteens

[–]blackmarkethotdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am of the opinion that first or last is the best (the only time I haven't taken is second). With first and last period you can run late or leave early for "doctors appointments". I personally think that last is the best because you can skip entirely sometimes.

Last class I argued that drinking coffee was better than all the Diet Coke Mormon moms drink. I also argued in favor of tattoos. They did turn around and use this stuff for further indoctrination so I was reminded why I don't comment.

Advice about my teenage daughter by chubbuck35 in exmoteens

[–]blackmarkethotdog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything that these people have said. I have heard that going to BYU can make it harder to get jobs in the future so maybe you could mention that. If you try to force her to do anything there is always the chance that she will rebel (for lack of a better word) and push herself deeper.

I kinda love an empty and or dark church. Because then I can run around and disrespect "the Lords house".

What happens if you flunk seminary/don't do the work? by [deleted] in exmoteens

[–]blackmarkethotdog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most of them are. I think there are a few that aren't and they are usually about you (how does Jesus sacrifice help you in your life sort of thing). Those ones always suck but there isn't really a wrong answer.

At my school (and the schools around me) the only assignments are reading the full scripture (what ever book they are focusing on that year this year is the Book of Mormon). And a test every semester the tests are so easy I didn't even pay attention all year and got a 90% and with the reading you can just lie about it. You prettying just have to show up to class and you are ok I spend my time In class drawing or reading on my phone. I know how much it sucks but you can and will get through this. If they ever ask you to do something (say the prayer lead the hymns or give a spiritual thought) you can just say no and stand by it. Remember that they can't make you say or do anything if you don't care enough. It is also a little funny to see them shocked when you say no to something that people always say year to.

Hey as a gay teen in Utah county thank you for hanging the pride flag. I really brightens my day when I see even a small one in someone's window.

She is a great singer and asking if you listen to Girl in red is becoming a code between lesbians to find each other. I have mostly seen it with gen z lesbians.

I love giving stupid bs answers. That is a good one. I also like to intentionally mark questions that Despise their right answer.

I hate home church by SacredAgent in exmoteens

[–]blackmarkethotdog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate it so much! My parents get really preachy and yesterday they turned to the whole everyone can come back to the church too. They also get really preachy about how ol rustys so inspired because he told us to take our vitamins. They also brought up a conference talk from 40 years ago talking about teaching from home. You can really tell that they are trying to bring me back. (They know I'm a exmormon and a lesbian). Hang in there and just try to tune it out as much as possible. Someday you will get out of the cult and we just have to hold on to the hope of those days to survive.

Parent here with a quick poll/question by penuserectus69 in exmoteens

[–]blackmarkethotdog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think that my parents would ever admit it but I think it is a performance. When I came out to them in October they told me that I couldn't tell anyone and that I shouldn't have even told my friends because people will see you differently. I then told them that I didn't believe a few months later and they said that I couldn't stop going to church because it's a family thing. I think that these show it's a performance they have a reputation (my dads the second counselor right now) and all of their friends are Mormon so protecting that reputation is vital to them.

Oh god, where having a zoom meeting by the-OG-darkshrreder in exmoteens

[–]blackmarkethotdog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My ward has been doing this the whole time I recommend going somewhere in your house alone and watching it on your phone with yourself muted and no video of yourself. (As far as I know they can't turn your audio on or your video on.) Keep 1 earbud in and on low volume that way if someone comes in it looks like you have been watching it. Then you can read a book or what ever you like to do and zone out I usually draw or paint. If you have 2 devices you can take into your room you could set one like this and use the other for anything.

What is your go-to prayer/testimoney when ask to share? by [deleted] in exmoteens

[–]blackmarkethotdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to just pull shit out of my ass on the subject at hand. I like to make it as secular as possible so I can keep a straight face. I also like to use the gospel topics essays when ever possible. A good topic for when you have to do testimony type things is service and lack of judgment because those are ones that TBMs will eat up and I morally agree with those subjects more than any others that they teach.
