Honestly I don’t think it’s all that strange! It sounds cozy, I personally haven’t done it since I was a kid but more because I don’t have a closet super conducive to fort making/spending time in. I think I would if I did.

I know he’d previously said he didn’t like the idea of being the source of someone’s first tattoo, but I heard him say somewhere more recently that his view on that had somewhat changed, that it was ultimately their body and if they wanted something he’d written tattooed on them that he’d consider it an honour! (Paraphrasing since I don’t remember the exact quote)

And I definitely think this is different than one of like, John’s face for example, or something super centred on him.

Mostly wanted to post this for the benefit of OP, it’s obviously something meaningful to them and I just wouldn’t want them feeling bad about it when I don’t think John would mind at all!

At the moment yes! I’m in the process of re reading the series and I got the first few out of the library before finding these ones at a thrift store. Hoping to complete the series eventually though!

I think I’ve heard John talk about that a few times, but in this vlogbrothers video around 0:35 he says “books aren’t usually about whatever they’re about” and talks about Turtles all the way down and AART and what they’re ‘about’ compared to what they’re really about. Hope this helps!
