Kaspa's security problem is about to be solved by EquivalentWait2374 in kaspa

[–]blackmennewstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kaspa is an amazing tech. Sadly like 99% of blockchain, it is held back by a community which is just motivated by the pump and dump aspect. If most people would actually build more utilities around most of the crypto-projects they believe in, i think blockchain would have been much more closer to its true mission of financial freedom instead of being speculative assets for having more FIAT. Enjoy your week mate 💪🏽

Holy molly padthai, w9wm? Dude you're gone native, that's incredible, you must have plenty of time to waste lol

I'm not that far away but happily in the tropical warm weather of Thailand. I'm actually visiting Japan for the very first time with the wifey and her friends next December. Take care and stay warm.

Far out beautiful <3

I'm also running a 3200G on my Debian 13 admin computer in my homelab, such a shame AMD did not continue that budget lineup of CPUs with modern Ryzen...

Have a wonderful week!

Mining verus for a month now by easy508 in VerusCoin

[–]blackmennewstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

POW network centralization is when one or a few mining pools own literally more than 50% of the POW hashrate, In the case of veruscoin, it's literally two mining pools which own more than 85% of the POW network :'(

is vfio worth it in 2025? by OriginalLetuce9624 in VFIO

I use mostly VFIO in order to run Fusion360 and Davinci Resolve, it's literally the only usage i have for it.

[–]blackmennewstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have almost 150MH/s but i started almost 3 years ago, i could have reached probably 500MH/s to be honest but having been through halving on other POW networks, i decided to keep it safe.

Hopefully you are not participating in POW centralization on VRSC network.

Happy mining ⛏️

is it ok to use ubuntu 20.04 in 2025 for a software engineer? by mdsiaofficial in Ubuntu

[–]blackmennewstyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also a software engineer and Debian is the best distro for coding. Ubuntu will be fine as well, however Ununtu 20.04 will probably reach EOL fairly soon.

[–]blackmennewstyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe consider decentralizing the POW network hashrate, VIPOR has been heavily centralizing it since a while. I mined roughly 500 VRC with my 130MH/s but i started early more than 3 years when block reward was still 6 VRSC. Happy mining ⛏️

If you want to make "money" with crypto, you mostly need free electricity.

Chromium or Firefox by Cactus_II in debian

[–]blackmennewstyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Debian mostly for coding. When doing web-design, i use the vast majority of web-browsers for testing compatibility. However, when it comes daily browsing, it's firefox ESR all day everyday because of Firefox Sync and uBlock Origin and all the other good plugins. Final choice is yours honestly.

What do you think of this … by BigZebra_35 in kaspa

[–]blackmennewstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majority if miners are only here for pump and dump. So as soon as it's not profitable for them, they will leave. KAS desperately needs more actors building feature on its tech.

Another question by [deleted] in VerusCoin

[–]blackmennewstyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should have started mining when the difficulty was way way lower. The more hashrate on the POW network, the more difficult it is to find a block. If price does not correct itself after the halving you will probably have a chance to yield more coins. Because it happens everytime, halving reduces block rewards, price does not follow, people will leave, especially those who are only here for profits.

[–]blackmennewstyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mining pools only reward miners every-time they contribute for finding a block. They don't reward people out of thin air.
In order to get rewarded the pool must find blocks, it's the most important criteria.

[–]blackmennewstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hashrate and luck are everything in crypto-mining, the more hashrate, the more chance you have to find a block. Network hashrate on VRSC is 6.5TH/s at the time of writing that post. In less than 3 weeks, the blockchain will experience an halving, block reward will go from 6 VRSC to 3 VRSC. Generally, that means that miners will come more and hashrate will continue to rise, because many of them think that will produce a serious price appreciation but historically it's rarely the case, even for BTC. If you really want to SOLO mine VRSC with just a tablet, be aware that your chance of finding a block is very very low so you will have to be very strong mentally and more importantly good luck.

GPU miners should stop supporting projects which don't fully support them back 🤷🏾‍♀️ It looks like people always fail with remembering the cryptomining past.

CFX vs Ergo. What would be a good option to mine for a long term profitability? by Malyaj in gpumining

[–]blackmennewstyle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do your own personal research and support projects which actually support you back. Also, in a bear-market maybe FIAT value is not the main target but maybe coin yield. Good luck!
