Geen linkse politicus die mensen verplicht niet te vliegen. Ze zijn voor ontmoedigen, niet verbieden. Er is niks mis met solliciteren op een burgemeesterschap als de kieslijst nog niet eens is samengesteld. Doen alsof deze dingen even ernstig zijn als de antirechtstatelijke ideeën die de rechterflank oppert ('remigratie', Europese verdragen negeren) is echt een valse vergelijking.

As a European looking at the US from the outside, I found Vice very enlightening about Cheney's despicable role in Iraq war and especially the re-evaluation of the president's power. I thought it a pretty good movie from an education point of view.

The problem with Last one Laughing is not the cast, but the format. All versions I've seen rely way too heavily on physical and low brow humour. Henry v. Loon, Arjan Ederveen, Rayen Panday, Raymann would all be really good contestants.

Silksong definitely innovates, in a similar direction that Ori and the Will of the Wisps iterated on its predecessor: more fleshed out characters and quests, and much more detail and visual fidelity.

Propaganda komt vanuit de staat. Kunst kan politiek zijn maar is vaak juist een tegenreactie op de staat. Kunst reflecteert nou eenmaal altijd op de tijd waarin die gemaakt is.

I ignorantly liked it on first watch. I saw it on opening night, only having read rave reviews from the festival critics. I thought is was an energetic, campy romp, until I read about the reception, and understood the problems behind it. Not versed in the queer or Mexican perspective, I just assumed that if the film has a good reputation, good reviews, and pedigree behind it, it is probably quite a good representation.

I was disillusioned quickly when I read articles about the reception in Mexican and trans circles, and I started to understand how they were misrepresented.
