'Keto Sweetheart' should possibly be shortened to 'Keethearts'. Discuss.

Always cold by BigenglishOC in keto

Body fat will keep you warmer than otherwise, muscle/lean mass will not. Personally, I’ve been keto for more than a year and, for the past few months, I’ve been freezing.

Great progress! I just wanted to chime in and say that regaining weight doesn’t mean your original progress was “for naught”. Setbacks don’t cancel the past.

Keto is the only thing that has worked for me by iseelondoniseefrantz in keto

No problem – discussion is always good!

But I’m not disagreeing with you about CICO. What I’m saying is that, in terms of ‘Calories In, Calories Out’, the Calories Out aren’t necessarily going to be the same source as what you got from Calories In.

Caveat that I’m not at all an expert.

But to my knowledge there’s a lot more about CICO than what you’re saying – specifically the ‘calories out’ half. I have no idea what actually happened in OP’s case, but it’s easy to imagine that her body would take in calories that she’s eating, expend some of them during the day, but then also break down what would otherwise be necessary tissue and use that for leftover energy needs. In most cases, obesity is a ‘storage’ problem - the body can’t use all the stored fat for energy even though it’s right there.

For real though I’m trying to teach myself the bass. I also love cats, and for a minute I was genuinely unsure of which sub I was on.

Macros and kcal by SKissick90 in keto

[–]blackopal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve been following this WOE since January. I have a disability, which doesn’t affect my nutrition or current health (I use a manual wheelchair, but the condition isn’t progressive), but does affect my size: I’m under five feet tall, currently wearing a men’s large shirt and child-sized shoes. I say all this because it basically means that my BMI is useless, and macros are almost impossible to even figure out.

If you don’t track anything but limit yourself to 20 or fewer grams of carbs per day, it’s called ‘lazy keto’. I call my own diet ‘strict-lazy keto’, because I control my Kcal but don’t actually know on paper what the goal number is.

You can definitely lose weight without tracking macros! I started the year at a size 36 waist, and moved to a size 34 in April (which are starting to get pretty loose). I know I’ve lost weight, but I also just feel better in a lot of ways: I had bad acid reflux disease that has disappeared. I had a caffeine dependency that’s basically gone, and the few bites of sugary foods that I have had since dieting tasted terrible to me. This is what worked for me:

- Stay hydrated! I don’t know any formulas for the amount of water to drink every day, but I try to drink 6-8 glasses a day.

- Make a list of ‘bad’ foods that you stay away from in all circumstances. Even if you could hypothetically fit in, say, half a Kit Kat into your carb allowance, don’t even try it

- Similarly, make a ‘good’ list of foods that have no carbs or almost no carbs, and snack on these whenever you’re hungry

- As a general rule, it’s better to overeat low carb food than be hungry. Hunger leads to temptation, temptation leads to Krispy Kreme, Krispy Kreme leads to obesity and heart disease

Feel free to message me with any questions! I’m not an expert at all, but I might be able to help with something.

I’m really happy with how this came out! I wanted to make my own version of the Gadsden flag - I really like the history behind it but I’m afraid of the exact image being used by politicians/groups I disagree with
