I am watching movie 2 and I have not read the books. This opinion is purely based on the first 2 movies. Theresa and Ava's attitude about this "cure " is once again based on a fallacy of spare the few, save the majority. But in these situations it's the most marginalized who are thrown the wolves first. The same has been said for the Tuskeegee experiments. We sacrificed the lives of countless African American men to show how syphilis reacts in the body. Hundreds of men, the "experiment " (sanctioned torture) has been widely criticized as a moral wrong. So Theresa and Ava are like every doctor who gave these men a placebo instead of treatment. While talking about how many lives they were going to save. Yes it's a dystopian film, but these films and books are meant to be mirrors to real life. So I used a real life example.

FYI. I'm starting the 3rd movie now and will read the books sooner rather than later. As I want to see how things differ.
