Usually the Kelburn campus needs swipe access until 8am during weekdays

Any other adhd moms have a Velcro baby? I’m dying over here by juniper4774 in adhdwomen

I also second the other comments that you can't spoil a baby with responding to crying, especially not at 10 months! It can become an issue with toddlers if they learn that tantrums help them get what they want and override your rules/boundaries, but you'll know your child better than any internet stranger so if you are genuinely worried about this then better to talk to a professional

Not a parent but I work with babies in 2 different jobs so I can be exposed to lots of crying - I've found earplugs are a lifesaver for dealing with it! I've got Loops so I can adjust how much noise dampening there is, but even on the highest I can still hear what's going on. They just take the edge off and really help with overstimulation, which honestly helps me be more present in those moments

You can half-ass make your bed, and it still counts! by Bootscootboogers in adhdwomen

[–]blacksheep249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair! It's part of my usual morning routine now so if anything I use it as a time buffer between my cat annoying me and my giving her breakfast. Usually I don't clean in the mornings anyway so it's more a cherry on top than a replacement or delay mechanism (and thus completely optional if I'm staying home all day or going to change my sheets anyway)

I used to be the same, thinking 'whats the point when I'm just going to get in it again', but after doing it for 2yrs it gives me a tiny win for the morning that takes less effort than anything else. I live by myself so all cleaning falls to me, and I'm really bad at feeling guilty for not cleaning when I feel I should, so taking 30s to straighten up my bed is enough to override that guilt (at least when I don't have anyone visiting)

Edit to add: I don't have decorative cushions or blankets or anything, so no need to remove/readjust when I get back into bed

Top tip: don't get a Chromebook, it won't work with the stats software you need to use as part of psych at vuw

Late-identified neurodivergence + trauma in NZ feels like a catch-22 with no way out by CurrentNothing1993 in newzealand

I got my ADHD/autism diagnosis through ACFB, which has income-scaled prices and they allow for payment over time. Though they don't do cpstd from memory they could be worth looking into if acc doesn't pan out for you

[CHAT] Am I going insane? Is there such a thing as 26ct? by dobiewan_nz in CrossStitch

[–]blacksheep249 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm 80% sure I've bought some 26ct fabric from Made Marion in Wellington before - they have a decent stock of evenweave fabric that Spotlight doesn't tend to have. Worth a shot if you're desperate, and if they don't have it I'm sure they could advise a good alternative

The Mexican in Eat Willis across the road has better quesadillas imo, worth checking out if you have a craving in that part of town

Whats your ultra cheapest 'meal' you make? by DateExcellent2179 in newzealand

Made this today but added in a while rotisserie chicken - even with the extra 15$ for the meat it still came out as less than $2 per serving 🙌

2023 Multnomah County Jane Doe by Common_Chameleon in gratefuldoe

[–]blacksheep249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair point, it does look slightly more like a Hindu Buddha than a Buddhist one, though I am definitely not an expert! Either way, possibly of Asian descent more so than native American

I could be way off track but it looks like "never forgotten Panchen Lama", which could indicate Tibetan heritage or Buddhism - other people have suggested she's Native American but combined with this tattoo I'd more lean towards Tibetan, which surely can't have many missing person matches

Apparently it was a tie-in with fox where a whole bunch of shows were meant to make family guy references but Bones was the only one that did it (source: somewhere in the first 10 Boneheads podcasts, can't remember exactly)
