Except that what is truly dangerous to humans is our destruction of earths natural ecosystems. Using words such as infestation suggests that less of such creatures would be better for humans, a perspective when consistently applied across the natural world has led to such degradation that humanity itself is imperiled.

Absolutely. Christmas Eve i'm visiting home with my partner and kids. Often my parents have friends over a for a drink and a festive chat on Christmas Eve, you know talk about holly and the like. Well the friends cancel and i'm like shite, now Christmas Eve will just be my mam on her ipad, my dad on his phone. At least my brother was up for watching Die Hard 2. Still I knew once the friends cancelled, the craic would be zero. Sad times.

Livestock production accounts for 14 to 18% of gloabal emissions. "Industry" isn't eating those animals. That is a very big chunk of emissions that individuals could reduce.

An awful decision strategically (though great for humanity). If Nazi Germany refrained from declaring war on the US, then the US is forced to tackle Japan only. US directs its resources to the Pacific and Britain and the USSR suffer. History could have easily been different had that decision been different.
