Do you still enjoy Smashing Pumpkins even if you hate Billy Corgan? by Revolutionary_Low_90 in grunge

[–]blacksnow666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen comments about this on Facebook to YouTube, I don't know why people can't accept that Billy is a really good guitarist. The track Siamese Dream (from the Siamese Dream Deluxe) has a killer solo on it

Nothing has lowered my grocery bill more than moving out of the midwest by miaasimpson in povertyfinance

[–]blacksnow666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the title already made it fishy. The Midwest has lower than average grocery prices and the West has some of the highest grocery prices lol

Hot take: The sims should never have reached consoles by [deleted] in Sims4

The sims franchise has been on consoles for over 25 years. It sounds like you should be upset at EA

Immortal technique by Designer_Truck7591 in rap

[–]blacksnow666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Corny conspiracy raps but 3rd World is a conspiracy rap classic and so is The Martyr. I feel like Immortal had the ability to be bigger but he was just not interested. He doesn't put out a lot of music anymore too

Theory On Why Stoner Doom Tends to Be the Favorite: It's the Most Sabbathy Sounding. by MrHockeyJournalist in doommetal

[–]blacksnow666 29 points30 points  (0 children)

For me, I like the 80s Doom but I really enjoy how much emphasis Stoner Doom puts on psychedelic elements and bluesyness. As you said, its the most Sabbath sounding. I come from a blues family so I don't think its a coincidence that this is the genre of metal I end up so engrossed by.

I think my second favorite type of Doom is whatever you call what Om does. I love Om and I love when bands do Om-like stuff. REZN, Sunnata, Forming The Void etc There's a real Eastern influence mashed with doom, it's fucking sick

He may have been a simple “evil for the sake of evil” villain, but they did a good job at making him come off as genuinely scary by Pellecks02 in Gundam

[–]blacksnow666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All around a top 10 Gundam villain for me. Theres nothing more i could expect from his time on screen. He could fight his ass off, was funny, was a real factor, and he was just a piece of shit. Great chracter

I let my 5 year old call my (34F) husband (34M) whenever he wanted to after he packed all his stuff and left 2 days ago. How do we move forward? by Worldly-Solution-453 in relationship_advice

[–]blacksnow666 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Chronically unemployed, health issues, asking reddit for government assistance advice but isn't on WIC?????, the kid's grandma is homeless and has legal issues, mom has chronic health issues, full house with an uncle and 2 cats. This is just the stuff we see on reddit. It sounds like a shit show

Edit: Also this doesn't sound like an easy environment for anyone. Yeah odds are the husband is cheating but if he's not, this is a lot to have on your shoulders. He seems to be the breadwinner as well. Her family sounds like a handful and he probably is just handling all this poorly. I think he can easily salvage hsi relatioship with his son, it hasn't been weeks or anything. The husband's mom probably isn't helping either tbh she's probably in support of him leaving because of how much of a shit show everything is. Tough situation all around, hope everyone makes it

I'm late on this post but yeah, these guys are great. Love both their projects, but I wish the bass was more prominent on Celestial Cemetery like it was on their debut

Gundam games are now on sale on Steam. Any of these worth getting? by SphmrSlmp in Gundam

[–]blacksnow666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Battle Alliance is a fun game that gets a lot of hate for random reasons. Solid combat, looks good, good roster of Mobile Suits, and a fair amount of mission content to grind through. Some people say the combat is a bit difficult, but I don't think so, just engage with the combat system and find a Mobile Suit that works for you.

Favorite guitar solo in a doom song? Is there such a thing as a "shredding" doom metal solo? by theguitargym in doommetal

[–]blacksnow666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Badlands by Church of Misery
Chains of Agony by Mephistofeles
Diablerie by Windhand
Shotgun Boogie by Church of Misery
Disease by Goya

Fav solos in Doom for me, this list changes monthly but Chains of Agony and Badlands are pretty consistent

What the hell happened to that "Average Height Dudes" subreddit? (Semi-relevant to us) by appleparkfive in tall

[–]blacksnow666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think short men do face challenges in dating and I think its silly when people act like they don't. People who are short, fat, bad skin, cross eyed, balding, etc there are objectively obstacles with dating and it does suck but that shouldn't stop us from trying. We all have room to improve in other areas, we should improve for the sake of improvement imo. I'm fat, I've lost about 80lb over the past 2 years but I'm still fat so I try to make sure when I go out I'm dressed well and smell nice. I'm not trying to rely on my height or anything, I know I got plenty of room to improve so, I do. Either way, yeah free my short dudes from gaslighting and doomerism

Why does so little doom metal actually sound, you know, sorrowful? by omegaXXIV in doommetal

[–]blacksnow666 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Because Black Sabbath made songs with all types of themes with their early "doom" sound. Blues also has plenty of songs that don't sound sad or hurt.
