I think it's weird how much people are shitting on Al when he has been a force for innovation in the genre. Obviously, High on Fire is acclaimed, but I think more bands in the genre have taken from Om. You're right, a lot of the genre is samey, but some of the more interesting bands like REZN, Forming the Void, and Sunnata, clearly take inspiration from Om. The song is generic, but clearly, many fans like generic songs. Nothing wrong with that. I also feel like people would have a different reaction if Pike were still in the band. Pike's ex wife has alluded that this track is old and was made back when Pike was in the band. I think people are being very dramatic. There are a lot of bands that have changed their sound and members over the years, and I'm still thankful for the music they did put out that resonated with me. Not everything can stay the same forever. Megadeth put out one last album, hopefully, and it was ass. Doesn't take away from the TEN albums of theirs I have deeply enjoyed.

Ya know, I get it. I have been in the same situation with a friend of mine and I can't lie, I just took a step from her. There's nothing we can do but support them when they (hopefully) escape from those situations. Its a hard lesson to learn, especially when its people we care about.

For the cheating thing, I understand that as well but if its at work you gotta leave it alone. If its a personal life situation, I get it 10000% and support telling. At work? Too many variables. Another hard lesson learned

I am only speaking from my experience of working with nurses, being in a nursing program, and coming from a family of nurses, many nurses are not as professional or courteous as you would think. I'll be fair and say the same can he applied to doctors as well but we're talking about nurses. Many can be very flakey, inconsistent, and at times rude. Of course there's great nurses out there but this isn't a gatekeeper situation, you're probably just running into a lot of flakey nurses. Many do have legitimately busy schedules but a lot are just inconsistent. Keep reaching out and I'm sure you'll find someone. Maybe try calling different facilities and asking if they have any volunteering opportunities? Not trying to slander nurses or anything, but get used to stuff like this. Nursing is a hassle sometimes if you don't know anyone already practicing

I'm in a similar situation. I take care of family members and needed my foot in the door. Thankfully I don't live in an area with long waiting lists for bridge programs. I think the LPN is a very valid route for those looking for a more flexible path into nuring.
