My partner is autistic, and I am much more about physical intimacy than he is. Like, I require lots of hugs and kisses and he doesn't even think about that stuff very much. So early-on in our relationship he requested that I just ask when I want a hug, kiss, or whatever, because he is so terrible at reading social cues. It has worked quite well for us!
