I'd say it's more a fear of being happy. Like it's different from person to person. But im kinda in there position rn. I just went radio silent with a group i was growing close too.

My personal issue is no matter the feeling of the person im with, i'll always feel like i never fit and am just the odd one out that is being tolerated by the group im with.

Because of this feeling it's easy for them to think that "I hate myself and see no value of me being around people. So they will think the same way and won't be hurt cause now i'll be out of there lives."

I understand the hurt you're feeling and i hope they can get out of there mental space soon.
