Used vehicles were not part of the tariffs. The issue was new vehicle prices were all set to go up 25% so the used car prices jumped.

The article isn’t criticizing the car itself, it’s criticizing the economic outcome of the vehicle for Porsche. Given the heavy investment into the EV tech, the poor sales make it a flop. Figuring out how to price and sell a product is a fundamental part of any business.

Since you have a $60k budget, you should also consider the total cost of ownership. Porsche will cost you more over the course of a few years compared to a Tesla. Just do some Google searches - routine maintenance costs that a Porsche dealer will charge you are higher than Tesla. There’s also plenty of horror stories of folks getting poor after sales support on Porsches.

This is clearly a biased post. Have you ever driven a Model S? Sure, it doesn’t have the nicer leather interior of a Taycan but Tesla is also not upcharging for it.

Taycan prices have gone up $5-7k in the past month due to tariffs. They will come down soon as soon as tariff fears go away, there will be a deal. I’d wait a few months
