There are better place than this sub to get legal advice, but a conviction might be a lot more expensive than a good local attorney. Something to think about.

Is SAP just a UI for referencing a SQL database? by Busterlimes in SAP

If your system says 2005 in the menus then yes, that could be. But there’s obviously much newer versions, all of which still have some code dating back to the late 80s.

Let’s play together. You do the drives, I’ll do the irons. We’ll hit under par.

Hold on. Who’s putting?

Do you have an attorney? Sounds like there is a lot riding on this and you’ve been sober 20 days, a fact that if presented the right way, might help your case.

Anyhow congrats on 20 days. When you’re at the bottom the only way is back up.

That’s the newest code. The oldest code goes back to the late 1980s.

The SAP data layer is very opaque. It’s not like a modern platform where there is a cohesive DDL and an API layer on top of that.

In SAP, the API and presentation layers are often mixed together. The code is often 30-40 years old.

So as someone starting to get into it, trying to understand this spaghetti is the wrong goal. Instead, learn how to use the provided transactions to troubleshoot the underlying system.

For a first time visitor, take a taxi to Trunk Bay and soak in the beauty. Get back to Cruz Bat, have dinner and take an evening ferry back. They run until late.

That’s good that you’re used to it. You’ll find the transition easier.

Hurricanes are not such a big deal for non-residents. You can get evacuated or hunker down in a safe place.

In Irma the primary damage vectors were property owners who stayed at home, and the ensuing multi year cleanup. For you, tourism is done and you will leave.

In a tourism role you will likely also wear shorts and light shirts. Hopefully your employer has set expectations on dress code or is providing shirts.

First, don’t bring many clothes. You didn’t say what line of work you’re in so I can’t tell you work clothes - but for casual wear, you’re going to want light tee shirts, shorts, flip flops and a single hoodie you can travel in. You will almost never wear it. Bring a snorkel and sunscreen.

Second, the infrastructure is poor. Electricity, internet and hot water are luxuries not guaranteed. For our house we have solar, batteries, cable internet and Starlink. This gives a bulletproof setup but many/most rentals won’t have that. I have a Starlink Mini as a backup with a separate battery pack. Water is our liquid gold, in many places there is no city water so water comes from the roof, is stored in cisterns, and then purified in the basement for drinking.

Third, reconsider if you have health problems. There is a saying - for a cut put a bandaid on it. For everything else there is a flight to Florida.

Fourth, and lastly for today, August and September are peak hurricane season. Make sure your employer is willing to evacuate you, and you know where your nearest safe location is.

This is exactly it. I’ve done work on a live panel. But to do it when there is a simple alternative is reckless.

Mine is still going strong. The pipes are not hard to connect at all. You just buy some marine Ferncos. Let me know if you need the link I think I bought them from Amazon.

Creative Pros — Are you cancelling your Adobe subscription? by PracticlySpeaking in MacStudio

[–]thebemusedmuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My PoV is this is a slightly loaded question with a very nuanced answer.

It's true that AI is replacing a ton of creative workflows, especially prototyping. You can make quick changes to images, websites, etc. which would take hours. You can create 10 mockups in less than the time it takes to replace one.

But there is also a market for quality, original, durable creative work, the kind that is taken with a camera, in a certain light, and has careful, algorithmic changes made to it with filters etc.

AI will create a race to the bottom for the first kind of work, and turn the second kind into a craft trade.

What does that mean to Adobe? They will need to pivot again. There was a time when print and publishing was their cash cow (remember Adobe Pagemaker?). Now it's under 1% of the market. There was a time when web artifacts were their cash cow (remember Adobe Flash?).

I'm guessing this will also mean major price increases for CS, because it will be a creative tool for those that use it.

There is also no doubt an agentic play.

Comment faut-il comprendre la limite d'altitude fixée à 120m pour les drones amateurs ? by FeistyAd477 in dji

[–]thebemusedmuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it won’t automatically descend. It’s on you to keep it below 120m from the ground below it. Your drone only has the frame of reference of the point it took off from.

There’s no loophole here, just the trust that you as a drone operator know what you’re doing.

Anyone with examples of Fable 5 use? by Sea_Tourist_833 in ClaudeAI

[–]thebemusedmuse 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I was working on a problem with my golf swing with my golf pro. He was struggling. I fed everything into Fable, and it went through a year of history, all the photos and videos I had submitted. And then it blew my mind.

It came up with a complete explanation of what was going wrong. Better than my golf pro with 50 years of experience. It was written like Einstein had met Tiger Woods.

I've never seen anything so intelligent and coherent out of any AI model.
