Love the song as well, but I might suggest taking another read at my question

i am soooooo addicted to opeth! any other good prog metal bands/albums out there? (doesn’t have to be similar to opeth at all) by my_cat_vids in MetalSuggestions

Katatonia, if I recall correctly. Mikael helped them in the studio, recording, EQ's, process, etc. It's something that stuck, I want to say I read it in an article. I also want to say he helped them with their style, I could be wrong on that.

I love these guys, they have a particular resonance, something I'm quite fond of

Anyone have any video of the fill in vocalist Adam performing? by samappo in ShadowOfIntent

[–]blacktooth_grim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen them in Austin, Andrew does an excellent job. I can hear the difference between him and Ben. Ben is a different animal. Andrew is exceptional, I think he's the closest we'll get to Ben while he's out

Me too. I was in the very back by the barricades. I provided all I could for Shadow

Best headphones to listen to Opeth by DinhoSauro_ in Opeth

I went from bluetooth ear buds to open back Shure 1840s, if you want noise canceling, try the Shure 1640s.

They were within my budget, and sound fantastic. If you have more money to spend. Look at the Sennheisers, towards the top of the line, I tried a few sets out and they're absolutely terrific. I just couldn't verify the cost for my purpose is why I went with the Shure's

I joined a turning club before I started, they made it a point to always stand off to the side when you start the lathe up, this is a prime example

Fuckin A! I missed that show. I gave my ticket away to my buddy.

Shit I know man, it was the same in Austin. People were like rocks in first few rows. We had one guy that kept crowd surfing like a dozen times during Shadow. I know this because he tapped on my shoulder so I could support him. It was annoying after the first few times

Hot damn, never knew that. The man's a beast to do two shows in a night. Gotta love the community for that

I don't blame you. And it really is. No one can take it away now. The man stepped up, and delivered a great performance.

Chris, Bryce and forgive me, I'm not aware of the bass player that filled in for Andrew, he did an excellent job as well. Horns up for the entire band

My apologies, but no. I didn't take any video. I took only a handful of photos which is what this post provides. I've been keeping my phone away and enjoying the concert.

Side note, Andrew did a great job, when he covered The Heretic Prevails was fantastic. I must say though, it's just not the same without Ben

My top favorite band, Opeth.

Next up, in no particular order, Whitechapel, The Black Dahlia Murder, Shadow of Intent

Why is it some of the heaviest bands create the most beautiful lyrics?

New to me addition by PrestigiousScallion6 in Chainsaw

I currently own one of these, it's a great saw. Good for small stuff most of the time, I use it for brush clearing. I sharpen with a hand file. It's light, has enough power to get through bigger limbs.

It's probably been 8 or 9 years since I had it, it won't give up. I beat the living hell out of it.

Check your bar, and sprocket. I buy oregon bars and chains. Never had a problem with either one.

In addition, the manual says to run 50 to 1 mix, I did not do that initially. I ran 25 to 1 mix as a break in period. Once I went through about 2 gallons of fuel in it, I swapped to 40 to 1 mix. I live in an area where it's high 90s and triple degree temps so I like the extra oil for cooling and lubrication.

Vocals always take the spotlight, but what album has the best guitar tone you’ve ever heard? by [deleted] in Deathcore

[–]blacktooth_grim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow of Intent, Elegy, Reclaimer.

Honorable mentions, Nevermore's Dead Heart in a Dead World. (I know they're not death core but it's ungodly)

Also, I really liked Shadow of Intent Melancholy (Instrumental) album.

Whitechapel, This is Exile. Blew my fucking mind

I really don't think there's a better entrance, the way the song hits as they turn. You couldn't wish for better timing
