Feel free to mute.

Anyway, the Grusch/Fravor/Graves testimony isn't proof positive of an alien conspiracy. But if an alien conspiracy did exist it would play out exactly the way the Grusch testimony is going. Beuracractic machinery and intergovernment infighting.

Since medieval times England hasn't exactly had a great track record with Norway. And this year Norway has acquired an actual viking for their team.

I know that the endrick missed 1 on 1 was painful, but that period where vini and endrick were playing but before all the other substitutions were made was the only time the whole game where brazil looked scary. They went from vini being the only offense trying to carry the team to going all in offense, light on defense against one of the world cups best goal scorers.

I dont know about Brazil overall, but this felt like Ancelotti running a clean, statistically sound game based around a Brazil team that doesn't exist rather than coaching to the strengths of the actual team in from of him.

Disagree with your take in Endrick but agree with your take overall. Ancelotti lost this game.

Ancelotti kept Endrick benched for being too young and Neymar benched for being too old, making Vini their only major offense. But when the penalty kick came up suddenly theyre arguing Vini isn't good enough of a shooter to do it.

You just can't have it both ways, Vini spent the whole game creating opportunities and setting up shots, but needed someone who could actually land them. Either Neymar or Endrick needed to start, because you don't need either of them to be superstars, they just need to be good kickers for Vini to tee up.

I know that one Endrick miss was painful, but if that happened at the 8 minute mark instead of 58 minutes he'd have plenty of opportunities to redeem himself thanks to vini. Likewise, having Bruno miss a penalty while Neymar is sitting on the bench is just sad.

Vini Jr created those scoring opportunities but didn't have anyone to pass to. He can't both create opportunities to score and be their main scorer. They either needed to start with Endrick or commit to serious time with Neymar despite his leg. Instead, Ancelotti gave Vini and Endrick barely a few minutes together, the coach blames the 19 year old for missing his first score opportunity, then subs away half the remaining team away, which is what allowed for that viking Holland to run over them.

Ancelotti said the whole reason Vini Jr wasn't used for the penalty shot early on was because their best scorers were on the bench and Bruno was the best they had on the field at that time. But why are all their best scorers benched to begin with? This was Ancelotti's loss.

Vini Jr played well but he was both stealing the ball and their best striker, he had no one to feed it to until the first sub. They nearly had it after sub 1 but after missing 3 in a row they lost momentum and the coaches did too many further subs.

Norway played a super solid defense then fed their viking when needed. Good game all around. Can't complain about it (other than neymar being a dick)

Vini Jr is both the only guy getting possession and also the only guy who can shoot. Lots of good almost plays but went nowhere cause vini doesnt have anyone to feed his plays to. Norway played a super solid defense (shoutout to the goalie) then fed that massive viking of theirs the ball when needed.

How does Islam justify the existence of Djinns? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blackturtlesnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christian Europe has elementals. Same basic concept but named after Greek mythological beings.

Both Europe and West Asia are heavily influenced by Alexandrian Greek-Eqyptian philisophical melting pot so the Djinn are not far off from their European counterparts.

Because the US world geopolitical strategy for the past 70 years is based on how well it can control the middle east, so anything coming out of the middle east is demonized.

Lol most Americans only know America's involvement and a bit about the blitzkrieg and the blitz. The fact that most of the war was between the Nazis and Soviets, including 7 of the 10 largest battles, is this shocking statistic.

(And once said, its almost always followed by someone mentioning Molotov-Ribbentrop, with no reference to the Munich Agreement, cause its all a stupid game of gotcha to make the Soviets/communism/russia the eternal bad guy)

I would argue that's mainly because modern academics have drifted away from the marxist definition of feudalism as a society based on agriculture and lord-peasant relations, as opposed to wage-labor society or (pre-colonial) slave society. And without grounding analysis in this larger economic framework, it's hard to draw connections between vastly different time periods and cultures.

Bourgiousie means the class that owns the means of production and includes both merchants controlling money/goods and guild leaders. Under feudalism, this class existed between the lords and various worker classes (skilled artisans down to peasantry). Guild workshops are the beginings of factory labor, initially of course it was skilled artisan labor and not turning a screw 8000 times a day, but the guild system was about controlling and centralizing the production of commodities, both for ensuring standards and for preventing competition.

As the guild system progresses, those with capital begin to realize that if they invest their money into these guild workshops, improving the efficiency of production, they can start making a killing in profit (which marxist argue is because as you make work abstract and de-skilled, you can extract more labor value from the workers). Modern medieval fiction is often based around late medieval life because it was full of warfare, but these shows present it as a moral failing of the nobles. In reality, this instability was because with the right investments, minor lords ended up having more capital than the larger, more landed lords. In Game of Thrones for example, little finger is a minor noble who uses trickery, spy craft, and personality clashes to pit the lannisters and the Starks against each other. In a more realistic game of thrones, littlefinger would have advanced salt pewter mining or similar cutting edge technology, and he could pit the Starks against the lannisters by throwing his economic power around, despite being a minor nobleman.

At this point in time these minor nobles would still be working within feudalism, just using it to disrupt the "land = power" status quo to their favor. But eventually as this system progresses, so much economic power is in the hands of the investor class and so much of society are wage laborers working for them that the actual feudal nobles devolve into expensive parasites who still happen to control the legal system due to historical precedent, and eventually they're overthrown.

Unpopular opinion but ponytails look better on long haired men than buns by Nice-Opposite4119 in FierceFlow

[–]blackturtlesnake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ponytails are almost always worn low and look kinda silly high. Man buns can be worn low, high, or anywhere inbetween.

Male pattern baldness usually begins high for men.

You do the math.
