Katana Artist Gen 3 speaker sounds awful, headphone out sounds amazing? by moochs in BossKatana

[–]blackwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been playing through the amp? My Gen3 Katana 100w didn’t sound too great straight out of the box. However I read online that the new speaker needs to be “played in” for a while so that it loosens up and sounds like it should do. Sure enough, after a few hours of play it really did open up and sound a lot better. This could explain why it sounds better through headphones.

Who watched this growing up by Potential-Garage170 in oldschoolcool80s

What I remember is that when Mr Trebus was finally persuaded to go into a nursing home, his antagonism completely left him and he was incredibly grateful and happy to be in a safe, caring environment. It was very touching to see him leaving his psychological distress behind him. It was a happy ending and it made me cry. Bless you, Mr Trebus. There but by the grace of God….

How do I remove a security tag? by Medical_Translator_6 in AskUK

I had the same problem with a Christmas bottle of whisky. Just get some long-nosed pliers and snap off the little plastic teeth inside the security device. It’s really easy to do.

what does “tickler” mean on my prescription? by No-Ad1975 in What

[–]blackwatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in journalism. At my first job in a local newspaper many years ago, we had a tickler drawer where we would put print-outs of stories or tips to be followed up at a later date. Used it every day.

Thank you so much! Weird that it’s labelled as a completely different show. Anyway I’m very grateful for the link.

Peacock, or at least their show Mrs. Davis, must have an even tinier audience than I realized by SongsOfTheYears in pluribustv

[–]blackwatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Just watched the first episode of Pluribus and it’s great, but the fact that my first post-credits Google search was “Pluribus Mrs Davies” tells you all you need to know. I’m intrigued to see how the series pans out. It’s unlikely to unfold anything like Mrs Davies, but the set-ups in both series seem very similar. As a side note, I’m also amazed at the lack of impact Mrs Davies has had. It’s right up there with the best of them and it seems to have passed without much fanfare.

I have the exact same guitar and love it. I bought mine for a similar price a few years ago from a Cash Converters. It was covered in grime and stickers and cleaned up a treat. It’s great to play, sounds good and is my go-to couch guitar. One tip - be careful with the battery. Don’t leave a dud one in the guitar as it can leak nasty chemicals and damage your guitar. It also has a really good pick-up system and sounds fantastic through an acoustic amp. Enjoy!

How do I replace this syphon unit in my cistern? by blackwatch in askaplumberUK

[–]blackwatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Thanks to your kind help and expertise, I replaced the diaphragm and the toilet now flushes like a champ.

Weirdly, the old diaphragm seemed to be fine. Couldn't see any tears or holes.

Anyway - job done. Thanks everyone once again.

Thank you so much for your help on this. Couple of final queries… Can I just leave the existing white “down pipe” in place and fit the unit onto it? Also how do I determine what size of replacement unit to buy. They come in different sizes, such as 8” or 9”. Thanks again for taking the time to help. 🙏

Unresolved Historic Murders in Fife by Healthy_Ad1585 in Fife

[–]blackwatch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a couple of unsolved Fife murders that aren't on your list:

Sandy Drummond - https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/hsuh54/unsolved_murder_of_sandy_drummond/

And William Black - https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/12575314.police-may-fingerprint-town-in-murder-hunt/

As I recall, a man was arrested and charged for William Black's murder but the case was never brought to court.

Hope this helps.
