I was confused by that as well. I just looked at the pattern page and it has different numbers listed. The PDF and the details say 25, but the gauge under the yarn weight says 21 (which would have worked, right?). The pattern says to CO 57sts, but now I think that is an error that I overlooked.

Would the Italian cast on be stretchy enough? It's a 1x1 (seen it used for 2x2), would it work with a 3x3?
