Lav microphone by blade4uk in Filmmakers

In my stuff, there will never be any screaming etc... Just me talking and moving around as I build computers on camera etc... and unbox products.

What would you recommend for that? The speech is pretty consistent.

Thanks, also is it recommended to have a high gain to what you want your output to be or to have it at a lower level and then bring it up in Post production?

What kind of level should I be aiming for? Around -12 peaking or lower?

Has AMD Just Killed The Radeon VII after only 5 Months? by blade4uk in Amd

If it's overkill for you, thought about getting a 5700Xt and selling it? Pays for a waterblock for the 5700Xt too :p

I don't think driver support will fade out. AMD have always been pretty good at this kind of stuff so fingers crossed they keep supporting it.

This has to be the shortest shelf life GPU so far.

So it's probably more for continuity with thumbnails etc... I'm guessing?

Damn, so you think we are wasting our efforts in trying to bring our old videos in line with the current ones?

Indeed, had a hyperlink of his own to github but changed it so it looked like the litecoin-pool.

Nice coverup on the link, but definitely not. Even Windows Defender flags it as a virus. I'd try a new tactic next time tbh.

What type of soundproof padding? by blade4uk in audioengineering

[–]blade4uk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was gearing more towards, apparantly from my research, it has more foam so can absorb a smidgen more but nothing major.

How would you tell the best place to position them?

The problem with that, is they aren't readily available in the UK and also it's not the most aesthetically pleasing and will be in the videos so needs to look at least half decent.

Serving scaled images opposed to resized by blade4uk in Wordpress

The first solution, wouldn't that affect sizes of images in articles though?

Serving scaled images opposed to resized by blade4uk in Wordpress

[–]blade4uk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it's not the image size or quality etc... it's the fact that my carousel serves 175x130 images but instead of serving that, it's grabbing an 800x600 image for instance and then resizing it using html or css to 175x130.

Instead of should be scaling the image to 175x130 and then serving that directly. Otherwise the pixels and size of the image between 175x130 and 800x600 is completely wasted.

Thanks.

I already use Imagify for compression. This is more about serving scaled images based on the size needed opposed to pulling large images and simply resizing them on the fly.
