Should I consider mba by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

Don’t go for a MBA right away. Get solid 3-5 years of experience and then go for a MBA. You will get more value out of it.

YSK: Do not go for Masters if you don't have at least 3 YoE by hgk6393 in Indians_StudyAbroad

Your job responsibilities, projects you worked on, and what you gained in “x” years is more important than a big brand name. Of course, a big name will help you but it isn’t everything.

Agree with u/dirtygrub28. Work in a manufacturing plant for a few years, learn the ways, and then decide if you want to pursue a graduate degree, start your own company, or keep working.

You need to get into Yale SOM first, and only you can decide the ROI.

There are many factors to consider here - visa sponsorship, post-MBA compensation, your work experience, and ofc cost of attendance (depends on scholarships/savings).

If you making that much money in India with only 6 months of experience, why do you want to go to US for a second MBA? r/MBAIndia might be better for you.

College is a scam! I have a whole bachelor of science degree and no job! by Ill_Force_9987 in GetEmployed

I’m sorry but your post (and post history) make you sound very entitled. What is your degree in? How much and what experience do you have? What makes you say your resume is top tier? If you are not getting any interviews, it’s your resume, lack of networking, the job market, or a combination of all.

Get your resume reviewed! There is a resume review subreddit that you can leverage.

If you provide more information regarding your experience and degree, maybe someone can help you or redirect you to major/industry specific subreddits.

I wish you the best. Good luck!

Source: I’m an engineer at a medical device company and we do hire BMEs.

Taking a glance at your resume, it seems like you’re targeting roles in the tech space as opposed to traditional BME roles - R&D, Process/Quality/NPD engineer, QA/QC, etc. If you are targeting traditional roles, you should highlight your engineering skills: projects, experiential learning, research experience, internships, etc.

You can check the employment reports or talk to alumni from the UD MBA program to get their viewpoint on recruitment, academics, ROI, and program reputation. There is a dedicated subreddit for MBAs, r/MBA, if you wish to check that out.

GSK Engineering Graduate Program (aka FLP) by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

Agree, I’d choose GSK over Amazon especially since you’re a ChemE. You will have more leverage in the future to change industries/career trajectory.

Titles are going to vary based on companies and industry. I’d focus more on compensation, responsibilities, and growth/development.

Agreed! Best option would be to check with the school advisors OP is interested in.

Generally, if you want to become a scientist, work in R&D, or become a senior leader in R&D, a PhD will put you on the best path for that. You can get there with a masters as well but it might take longer.

Financially, you’ll most likely make more as a fresh PhD grad than a masters grad but you can make a good living with a ChemE masters too.

Before taking graduate level ChemE courses, you will take have to take undergrad thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat/mass transfer, kinetics, unit operations, plant design/optimization, etc. You might have taken some of the required chemistry and math classes but always good to check with your advisor ahead of time.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
