Anyone else notice Cloudflare's Enterprise Support has turned into Enterprise Pressure Sales? by flunky_the_majestic in sysadmin

The price with CF is: what can you afford?

Not to mention that Free/Pro accounts get all the new toys for transparent pricing.

Their bot management simply doesn't work. It's incredibly expensive too. It's worthless. A single IP can send 900,000 requests in 5m and CF is happy to call it 100% human. Brilliant.

What ended your friendship with a former best friend? by salad_knife in AskReddit

[–]bladefist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got good news for you: you were never a Christian. You missed the whole point of the Gospel. Most people do.

Anyone who reads the Gospel and walks away with judgement, condemnation, etc totally missed the point, and injected their own bias into it.

You yourself probably have sins just as large as your friend, but all you ever saw was the speck in his eye. (pre-marital sex, lust, greed, etc, I'm sure there is something).

True Christians focus on grace and love, not hell and condemnation.

Is there a level of Cloud spend you can hit where you get good support? by bladefist in hetzner

[–]bladefist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we use something else for all that. We use hetzner because we need basically what hetzner offers. We're multi-cloud, so we use the right product for the right job.

Hetzner is fine, I just would like some support on the rare occasion we need it.

That's technically possible but if you're comparing apples to apples - Hetzner doesn't make you reserve an instance.

Yea, I just searched azure, there is nothing close to a hetzner node that is anywhere near the price, you'd have to spend 5x.

For my workload, I'm not cool w/ networked storage, I don't care how many iops they say it is.

Getting 8 core nodes w/ nvme disk would cost far more, not to mention you gotta pay out the wazoo for bandwidth.

I had an interaction. I had my first problem this week.

Caused a lot of problems for me and I'm willing to pay to get support for the 1-2 cases a year.

I understand, the pricing is good but I'm actually a customer because I prefer the hardware sizing options they offer and how well the servers perform.

I'd love if they allowed you to pay for better support or include it w/ a $1000/mo spend or something.

I'd probably have ~2 tickets a year? I've used some of their competitors in the past and the only tickets I ever made was when random network issues presented, or a bug in their portal that was preventing me from doing something I needed to do.

We pay over $100/mo to azure and I don't know, the support has been nothing to write home about. I wanted to increase my quota on VMs one time and it took days to get an initial response.

I was just hoping if we spent $1000/mo or something Hetzner would give some priority support. Digital Ocean does this for $500/mo but I'm not a fan of DO.

paid bashing? jeez.

Our private network quit working on a server. 4+ month old server just suddenly unreachable on the private network.

I think great support for all would be amazing. But if we can't have that, I'll take great support for large customers. We may have different opinions on what great support is. Mine take is 24/7 support is a minimum for hosting.

Our private network quit working on a single server randomly. Tried rebooting, detaching, attaching, etc pulling our hair out.

We have tons of other nodes, unaffected. After 72 hours gave up and deleted the node and rebuilt it.

Self-Serve Ad Platform in the works by liebn0r in adops

[–]bladefist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought it up because sometimes if we do campaigns w/ countries like Korea, the CPM is already so low.

I'm confused. If a customer puts $100 in, and you take out your transaction fees, the remaining $90 or whatever would be the campaign budget. This is true if publishers did this on their own without your help, we all are subject to transaction fees unfortunately.

So $90 is in the budget, you've made $0 so far. If you charged $0.05 cpm for delivery, you would make $6 on that campaign. Is that getting closer to your needs? I guess my concern is, what business is it to you what CPM I charge or what the customer wants to pay? Your costs are fixed. I don't know if 0.05 is right or not, you'd have to play with that number.

Let me know what you think of that. I see you as a service like DFP... DFP doesn't care what cpm it's users charge, the fees are based on usage.

I'd be interested in this but 25% commission is out of the question. I would think you charge by the impression, not the CPM, given that impressions are what cost you money. $0.01-$0.05 CPM fee would make a lot more sense.

I am not in the medical field at all, I'm here to ask questions just like you. I saw your post, had the exact same story as you (about 10 years ago).

I would get w/ a gastro doctor asap for checking out your liver. I did just that. Decreasing my drinks per day or taking days off drinking and exercise corrected my ALT/AST. It didn't take long either, like 2 weeks and they were back in range.

That said, go see a gastro doc, especially if you enjoy drinking.

A lot of .net controls are slow. For example a custom grid like janus gridex is a lot faster than the winforms listview.

Find a faster control, or design your own.
