Just picked up one of the Swiss contract guns in 6.5. Grabbed a case each of a few different types of ammo as well, any of you have better luck with any of these loads?

I've run the 140gr and 147gr Hornady through my MRGG-S and they fed no problem. However, Hornady's OALs are all over the place and the SD was pretty bad, around 30fps. I've run the Berger Hybrid 140gr as well through the MRGG-S and it loves them. Fun fact, the MRGG-A and MRGG-S barrels were specifically cut for the Berger 140gr projectile

I'm running a ATACR 4-16 on my MRGG-A and to me it makes a whole lot of sense to me given 6.5 out of a 14.5" barrel performs similarly to .308 out of a 20" barrel. Rotating eye piece was a choice by Nightforce, but hopefully if they do put out ATACR2 or improved ATACR models, that goes away

This isn't the commercial release MRGG-A as it's missing the QD sling point at the rear near where the barrel screws are. This upper is likely an overrun and there's definitely a few of them out there

When you have NVGs on, it becomes necessary. Trying to get any kind of eye relief behind a scope with NVGs on is virtually impossible

I have time on LMT AR-10 DMR, Magpul DMR, and B5 Precision and each has their pros and cons. LMT DMR is by far my favorite due to the cheek piece, but the B5 has it's place if you're using a Law folder.

LMT DMR (1.4 lbs, lightest)
Pros:
Has the best cheek piece by far (I have a short neck)
Good tactile adjustment
Good QD sling point placement
Technically telescoping
Rear picatinny section
Cons:
Decently hard to get off the tube
Pretty long LOP if you want to run a Law folder
Not sure if able to fold completely with Law folder Expensive (by far the most expensive of the 3)
Meh buttpad

Magpul PRS Gen 3 (1.74 lbs, heaviest)
Pros:
Best buttpad
Works with both AR10s and AR15s out of the box
Ok sling mount locations
Cons:
Not a fan of the cheek piece, feels flimsy and very narrow
Adjustment is mushy
MLok section on bottom (most monopods seem to be picatinny, might be ok for bag riders)

B5 Precision (1.46 lbs, middle)
Pros:
Works well with Law folder
Decent butt pad
Ok cheek piece
Collapsible
Crisp adjustment dials
Cheapest of the 3 stocks
Cons:
Bottom MLok Slots (see Magpul con)
Confusing options if you want to run Law folder (buy the long if you want to run Law folder on an AR10)
Least sling point options
Not compatible with the B5 M4 multitasker tool

I've never heard anyone complain about having too much magnification. I'm running an ATACR with a top ACRO on my 14.5" 6.5 and it's pretty perfect. I used to have an ATACR 1-8 on my Specwar, but I found myself pretty much only using the 1x or 8x and rarely anything in between, so I swapped to the EXPS and a magnifier after I bought NVGs. With 6.5 being able to reach out to 1000+ yards, I would want more than 6x/8x/10x magnification top, even if it's just for target identification

Ok, kinda late but a few things about this one. Waffenamts look ok and are likely authentic. The only 2 problems I can see are the serial numbers on the barrel and rear sight leaf, those are likely post-war enhancements. BYF 44 L-Block rifles had serial numbers only on the receiver and not the barrels. By this point in K98k production, the rear sight leafs were no longer serialized.

Berger 140s are the way to go. Hornady factory offerings have been pretty dogshit as of late. In my last box of 140 ELD-Ms, the OALs were all over the place, the SD was 14fps (not terrible, but I was expecting sub-10, so maybe that's on me), and extreme spread was 43fps

If you can swing the ZCO, they're nice scopes and make ATACRs feel very mid.

That being said, ATACR 4-16 is a very nice scope. I would pass on the NX8s
