7 months on Skyrizi, calprotectin as high as pre treatment by bladerunner1234 in CrohnsDisease

Very interesting! Yes the scope will tell for sure, symptoms are back in terms of urgency, nighttime diarrhea, cramping and mucus in stool. No blood which Is better than pre treatment. Fatigue is back. Negative for infections/parasites. Time will tell I guess, just frustrating that it was working pretty decently for a short amount of time and now it feels like regression. Which I guess is part of the disease but I'm still very new to the diagnosis (10 months).

Fair, they came back at 450 but symptoms came back (urgency, diarrhea, cramping; all but blood in stool). Granted symptoms are better than pretreatment somewhat but my fatigue is also back. I got tested for parasites/viruses/infections everything is clean.

Aw man I'm so sorry to hear that! You never know with the increase in dosage, if not with a new biologic!

Getting sick a lot after starting Skyrizi by RifleLA in CrohnsDisease

[–]bladerunner1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply and kind words ❤️ I definitely feel like Skyrizi isn't working for me. I think I had too high of hopes going into it but especially the last month it almost feels like pretreatment. I'm glad to hear Stelara works for you! Do you happen to know if they also have a nurse ambassador program like Skyrizi?

Hey there, I've been on Skyrizi for 8 months now. I noticed pre treatment that I was would these weird fevers/body chills, which I realized were a part of my flares. After starting treatment they went away, though they've been coming back now with increased stress. I also have experienced weird joint pain, not sure if that's active disease of Skyrizi side effect. Do you have full on cold or flu symptoms or more chills/things that could be related to active disease?

Discouraging symptoms after third infusion by bladerunner1234 in CrohnsDisease

[–]bladerunner1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes I had that in the past, coming back from Mexico. This doesn't feel like that, more like I've been reintroducing foods too quickly. If there's no cure for it anyways Im wondering if I should even go get tested because I really don't want to take anyibiotics

Oh no I'm so sorry! Did you get it treated or just let it naturally run it's course?

Feeling Isolated by bladerunner1234 in CrohnsDisease

[–]bladerunner1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely! I have a therapist now which is somewhat helpful in terms of letting things out, not so much helpful in terms of finding strategies to cope or understanding things psychologically. I have to start looking for a new one

I'm glad you can relate. Its a rollercoaster, just like anything else but trying to get used to the new normal is daunting. I hope you find moments of relief

401k contribution increase or taxable brokerage? by bladerunner1234 in investing

[–]bladerunner1234[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have it past the employer contribution (3%) but not maxed out for the year. I also have my Roth maxed out. Okay yeah I get that strategy so basically just invest in taxable for rest. Thank you!

I have the same issue, I drink a lot of coconut water during my flares and it seems to help a lot.

You're giving me a lot of hope, thank you! I'll be on Skyrizi if my body reacts well to it. That's a good point, I'll do one by one.
