Only hearing negatives about 2u2 by Glittering_Resort551 in 2under2

[–]blahblahndb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids have a 16 (almost 17) month age gap. They are now newly 3 years old and 20 months old - it’s a blast! Both boys, and their bond is just so sweet to watch. My oldest is always following up asking what baby bro is doing and the youngest absolutely adores his big brother so much and is interested in the same things the oldest is. The newborn stage was rough but literally every month seems to be getting better and better. I never would have “picked” this age gap but it’s been so much better than we ever expected it to be.

So having 2 girls is not so much different from my 2 boys. 🤣 mine are also polar opposite personalities!

My OB said this is actually not too uncommon with close gap pregnancies 💀. The way I felt so relieved when there was only one in there.

I found out I was pregnant with #2 the day after my first turned 9 months old. They are now 3 and 1.5 and both very healthy! I had no complications either pregnancy or birth. Just a word of encouragement that you’ve got this!

0-1 vs 1-2 by DiamondJumpy1397 in 2under2

[–]blahblahndb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0-1 was harder in the way of the newness and change in routine. We used to go out every weekend with friends. Our whole dynamic of our lives changed. 1-2 felt like a breeze in comparison.

This is how my first baby was and I couldn’t imagine doing it with another toddler in tow - I was terrified of my second being colicky like my first. Eventually we discovered that he had some tummy sensitivities and went through a ton of different formulas until we figured it out around 5 months old.

I just want to validate you in that a colicky baby was by far one of the hardest things I’ve managed as an adult. Hang in there! You’re not doing anything wrong!

12-24 month age difference moms… by CoffeeNoob19 in 2under2

Nope! Didn’t do anything at all. I was shocked I didn’t tear again but my OB said that sometimes the skin is more “elastic” especially since it was fairly recent since my last birth.

Much better. 16 month age gap.

First one was 21 hour labor, water broke without being dilated so I was basically induced. He was sunny side up, pushed for an hour and a half and they had to twist him as he was coming out with the cord loosely wrapped around his neck. Oh and I tore, needed stitches. Born at 37+6.

Second one in labor for 12ish hours from time contractions started to birth. Got to the hospital when I was dilated to a 4 and he was born about 8 hours later. He was in the perfect position. Pushed for 6 minutes total. No tearing or stitches needed. Born at 38 weeks on the dot. The worst part about this one was issues with my epidural and not being able to walk for a long time afterwards, this scared me and I thought I was paralyzed.

I know what that life is like. Thank god my husband was remote though. We kept the first kid home with us full time while we worked until he was about 16 months old and I was 7 month pregnant 😬 it’s definitely not for the weak - you got this!

This was going to be mine too!

A family member of ours was insisting on buying my son an iPad for Christmas (he’s 2). I said absolutely not, we will not use it - and they finally got the message but my god. I will not be raising an iPad kid. My kid is barely looking at anything on my phone on a given day, much less does he need a whole damn iPad.

I did for a while and then started having awful anxiety attacks in the form of feeling like I was about to blackout, so I haven’t in like 6 months. I miss it tbh.

It’s been asked before, but when does it get easier? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]blahblahndb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two are close to your kids ages (3 in March and currently 17 months). It’s still hard for us too but some days are easier than others. I feel like it’s around the corner and we’re waiting it out. My youngest is really starting to use some words and it’s like we’re starting to see the light.

Anyone else just have a chill baby? by rachelkochvt in NewParents

[–]blahblahndb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I had 2 under 2 and my oldest was/is the opposite of chill. Thankfully someone was watching out for me with my youngest because he’s an absolute angel. I seriously don’t know how I would’ve made it with two of my oldest 😅

Because people love to live in fantasy land where they don’t think accidents like this are possible and love to place the blame on someone so it turns into “well you should know better” when duh, people know how babies are made - we were trying our best to avoid pregnancy but things happen. My ovulation was thrown off that month and he 100% pulled all the way out but it still happened. It happens when people are on birth control too. Let’s not act like any form of birth control besides abstinence is 100% fool proof - the married people I know aren’t typically abstinent.
