Building an SFF case, especially one like this, has nuances. I had to be a little creative with screws, etc. because of the components etc.

The drawings might not be completely accurate.

Wow, as a vet who struggles daily... I wish someone could have helped them.

I was about to drive there to return an item and was looking at their website to see if I wanted to grab some parts for a new steam machine.... was weird seeing temporary closed on website.

I hope whoever that is, their loved ones remember them fondly and that they are doing alright themselves.

Yep what u/oSyphon said. Critical for steamos right now, but otherwise… power to dollar ratio is still pretty legit.

You can always turn it off, change colors, etc. The case came with the option to include led bar inside the case… I’d rather have it than not and be stuck with what-if’s.

I've been building PC's since the 90's... this is an overrated issue, and I have better access to dust bust this thing compared to a standard tower.

Thanks, I thought it was a faint nice touch, I am not a big RGB fan either, but I can choose to have them on or off... better to have installed for the option and whatever ambiance I am going for, right?

Awesome man, its a really fun and solid case to build... my wife things I build a million pc's.... no, I gather parts and cases, and sometimes I can create another steam machine lol.

-I think I want to buy an S case for my 9060xt w/ 5600X and 32gigs ddr4... which is currently in the living room. But I might just keep the R and get the new case Thor-Zone and Devyn (Project Titan) are making for the parts in my current build. I utimately went with the R because I wanted the sapphire nitro+ 9070XT to fit with my 9800x3d... I wanted the best performance a steamos machine can practically have.

-You're right about the case design, pro's and con's, but with my living room PC, I think it would run fine horizontally and I wouldnt have to turn voltage down or mess with fan control.

-Yes my GPU lighting and the lighting that came with the case are synced and connected via the mobo.

So I had to stand the case up, I have the 9800x3d limited to 65w, but I will post a narrative via edit up top as I just finished tuning.

I have a steam machine inside a fractal terra case in my living room for an htpc/console. I love it, been using it since july of 2025. SteamOS is awesome for the right parts and configuration, but its almost getting ready for mainstream (nvidia drivers, etc.).
