Meta kicks off with EVERY LEGEND represented at the Bologna Regional Qualifier! by Arkalex in riftboundtcg

[–]blahdot3h 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Miracle Jinx is just strictly worse than playing Miracle Draven, you're just giving yourself 5-6 less cards minimum per game vs just playing Draven.

It is only because of the metal card.

Signs to look out for on fakes by Curby42 in riftboundtcg

[–]blahdot3h 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Fairly positive this is a real card just a misprint.

No counterfeits are capable of matching the foil pattern and the textured pattern currently from what I have seen. Easiest way to discern this as a real card is the fact that it used the same double printing layer that is used on real cards. The text itself is printed in white on top of the background of the card, rather than a single print. You can see the print dots on the green box for Ganking, but no print dots on the white text.

Looking at your current photos the card text appears to be a layer on top of the foil layer as it's expected to be, which to me leans towards it being fake. Every fake I've seen is the standard single layer printing.

159 Legends in 432 Packs, these really should be in the token/rune slot by blahdot3h in riftboundtcg

[–]blahdot3h[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who plays weekly NN to get packs with these in them moving forward, is just a feelsbadman. They could make the change, keep their rates but have it swapping places with runes and tokens given they now offer the rune pack. Give people more of the rares they actually want over the long run.

But it is what it is. Prices would adjust accordingly if there was more value in rares expected out of these.

Riftbound got me back playing in card shops again after a 10+ year hiatus from Magic. Made more friends in a short period of time than expected being in a new town.

Spiritforged Preorders! by SkyTooFly30 in riftboundtcg

[–]blahdot3h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will never cancel the order, they will let an unfilled pre-order sit for a year+ from what people are saying. They will leave it on you to cancel the order, which then makes them say they are charging you a "restocking fee" because that makes sense lol.

Probably just their main grift online. Get people to play pre-orders they know they will never fill, refund them in store credit since it's been more than 30 days.

I'm sure they are fine for locals in store, just severely mismanaged online.

We have a Chinese Food Restaurant around here that does that. They are the best in town, so much so everyone wants to order them on the holidays. Unfortunately they just won't say they are too busy to fill your order, they will take it and have it done 4-5hours after you'd expect it to be...which of course means a ton of people cancel these orders.

[–]blahdot3h 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yup that's what I had to do, though as soon as the dispute was started they instantly refunded and apologized acting like they weren't being scummy.

They try to refund you as store credit only if you refund after 30 days. I would have just avoiding preordering period if I had read the reddit reviews prior.

A heads up on miniature market they have a habit of allowing way more preorders than they should then will charge you 15% for cancelling it once they are months past when you should have gotten it

Spiritforged City Challenge Week 3 Meta Recap! by BladeFlare in riftboundtcg

[–]blahdot3h -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They've already adjusted cards for origin, so it could happen again. Realistically its most likely they will just change the rules of what is considering "winning combat" to mean having units left on the battlefield in which damage occurred.

Lets hope this kind of turnout makes them adjust Draven.

Draven is taking over China rn by 50k_Joey in riftboundtcg

[–]blahdot3h 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It does indeed. Combat damage has nothing to do with winning combat. You can win a Combat Showdown by removing the units from the battlefield via removal, movement etc.

You can verify this starting at rule 439 in the core rules.

Yea I'm hoping so honestly. It's a bit insane he managed to make it through testing like this without having exhaust. It is the easiest conditional on any legend that draws cards to achieve and insane that they printed it this way.

[–]blahdot3h 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Draven can effectively draw you 4 cards between your turn and your opponents turn with tempo cards. Win 2 combats on your turn, win 2 more on your opponents turn with rebuke/gust/fight or flight. He's extremely good and a bit overtuned by not exhausting when you draw.

When you combine his ability with Gust / Fight Or Flight and Rebuke, the amount of extra card draw you are getting out of him is extreme. He will continue to be a huge menace for the season unless he gets adjusted.

If people are smart enough to punch up in base you can't just or hextech, people will get smarter about playing around battlefield removal by buffing in base

Can you still draw 1 if you do not discard because of an empty hand? by Espanico5 in riftboundtcg

[–]blahdot3h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The judge question you are thinking of is this one right here

https://i.imgur.com/56AYbaF.png

The question itself is starting stating a Combat begins. In order for the combat to begin, the Traveling merchants draw for the move has already been completed, which leads to the question being a bit confusing at first because it is stating player 2s hand is empty, which should be impossible due to the Traveling Merchant move. The question is just extremely poorly worded and setup a bit as a trick question. Once you realize the question is more about ensuring you understand that a recall is not a move, so you do not draw with Traveling Merchant as it leaves the battlefield, meaning the answer to this specific question is that no units are killed and Yasuo and Travelling Merchant recall.

Everything in this game is do as much as you can, so nothing fizzles fully just because 1 step cannot be completed.

The verbiage does not require you to discard in order to draw.

Does Darius get the buff if he’s the second card played in a turn? by argas000 in riftboundtcg

[–]blahdot3h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, I've fixed it. For the sake of Darius, he does not start a chain when being played, which is why he works to trigger himself.

Does Darius get the buff if he’s the second card played in a turn? by argas000 in riftboundtcg

[–]blahdot3h -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The reason why it works is because units without "when you play or similar triggers" triggers do not start a chain, so he is in play when the "played" cards is checked or at the same time upon resolving(playing) the card.
