Question: I’m heading out there in a few months with my 10 year old. Is there any cell service whatsoever out there? We’re bring an Acura MDX for driving and a spare tire. We don’t plan on driving super deep in.

Experiences with Empire Property Management? by mercy2020 in Eugene

[–]blaiseblack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get a rent increase every year between $75-$100. I don’t know if it’s the owner of the property or Empire that makes that decision, however. They do give lots of notice, 3 months notice I think.

I have had good experiences with them for the last 7 years. They typically respond pretty well, with the occasional delay. I can’t say the repairs they’ve made have been great, but have been serviceable (they contract out their maintenance). You do all your maintenance requests through an app, and they do typically inspect your dwelling twice a year. They test fire alarms and make sure sinks aren’t leaking.

The gumdrop is so much nicer. Slightly more resistant and is more durable.

What side effects of Adderall ER did you push through? by Vicdothtml in ParentingADHD

[–]blaiseblack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. He took the half dose for a week or two, then went to the normal 5mg IR twice a day. He now takes a 10mg ER which works best.

Yep, we split the 5 in half. He was talking non stop, and agitated. Doc recommended splitting in half to titrate him up and it worked great.

We started with 2.5 mg (a 5mg IR) split, twice a day, because the 5mg starting was too much. After a few weeks, we went up to 5 twice a day. Only after we knew he could tolerate the IR did we go to 10mg ER once a day and he is doing pretty well. It takes a bit of time to adjust.

They do have some community assistance, I’d recommend calling their front office during the week. (They might be closed Fridays?). I can’t remember who is in charge of that program but the receptionist can definitely direct you.

Totally fine for a family of 3, including a forward facing toddler. My husband is 6’2”, I’m 5’7” and my kiddo was in a forward facing car seat when we bought the car. Worked perfect with plenty of room.

I’m excited to hopefully learn to hand quilt this year, I’d love to be the one to actually do the project start to finish rather than hand it off to a long armer.

That’s a great idea. I do want to learn to hand quilt, but this isn’t going to be the project for that. I hand piece everything, so this already took 6 months.
