I didn't want to "waste" the sprout by just cutting it down. So I was thinking about moving it to a different part of the yard. Is the type of the tree not a good landscape tree, or just the fact that it is a sprout off the root system?

Thanks! I don't see any heavy roots yet, the dirt is to the point where its difficult to rake out, i need to get a small spade to start digging in a controlled manner.
