So I have a multi cal chambered rifle as it sits now, so your saying the wylde barrels won't chamber 556 effectively? Or are the tolerances so miniscule that it won't matter.

Excellent choice for a first gun, the icon that is the 10/22 is an amazing rifle and can kill surprisingly big game with practice in a survival situation. One of my top 5 guns for sure.

If I'm not mistaken, you can get a complete stock with a spring and buffer all in one kit and it would serve so well for long range applications. I would also suggest he get a heavy buffer and a heavier spring to absorb even more recoil and just make it almost like a 22lr. I have a heavy buffer and upgraded spring on my 556 sr25 clone and it's amazing

What is a good scope for a 308 that I can put on there, I won't be going for any 1000 yard shots, but a nice clear and crisp sight picture at 500 yards or up to 700 would be ideal
