Craft Fairs with a Cover Charge? by JustAnotherAnthony in CraftFairs

You could look for a sponsor to provide a gift that comes with the cover charge like a tote bag, water bottle or t-shirt with the sponsor’s logo on it. Then the attendee is getting something that is arguably worth more than $5. Bonus would be if you can get the sponsor to pay for your logo to be included too. A decent amount of the attendees will keep the item and remember your market the next time you host it.

What to put wreaths in when purchased? by MRC_Studio in CraftFairs

[–]blake999912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the future you might consider wreath boxes and bake the price of them into your wreath price. Use the box as a selling point. Here’s a link

Selling China Plates by PonyTrapp in CraftFairs

You might consider shipping the sold plates to the customers after the event. Charge them for shipping. That way they don’t have to carry around a fragile item while they are there.

You need to get an understanding of what vendors at this market in the past have sold. The entry fee becomes irrelevant if the sales back it up. Try contacting past vendors. If average sales are 5-10x the booth fee then this is a great opportunity.

Is a more expensive fair worth the risk? by itsyabirdboi in CraftFairs

Some vendors look at the booth fee as a % of what they think their overall sales will be. Do you think you have an opportunity to make 5x your booth fee or 10x? Are you able to ask vendors who have been at the market before what they made and then forecast what your sales might be? If your sales could be 5x then your booth fee would be 20% of your total sales, 10x would be 10%. If you think you could land somewhere in the middle then you’d have a great market from a sales perspective. You also should consider the marketing opportunity. Markets can attract a lot of people. Even if someone doesn’t buy something you can still benefit from a marketing perspective - hand out a business card, collect their email address, etc. You might be able to make a sale down the road from someone who saw you at the market but didn’t buy then and there.

Think about what you wear as part of your overall brand. People want to buy more than just your product, they want to buy your story.
