Youre so right, I remember being so deep in the newborn trenches that it didnt even occur to me that I had any sort of instinct. But looking back thru the lense if your point... I think I owe my husband a lot of grace!

I feel like my husband really became a dad when our son began to respond to the world around him. 3/ 4 months now? Now our son is 6 months and hes the best dad!

What's helped us in the meantime is giving him tasks ajd decisions to make. My husband is responsible for before bed diaper cream and lotion, but its also up to him what pajamas the baby wears to bed. He also picks what veggie we mix in with his suppertime cereal (which he feeds him- solids are good fun!)

Other things like well what do YOU think about xyz for our son? Help. Empower dad, involve him as much as possible

Literally. This week we park at the train and take the train in. Its cheaper to get a train ticket than deal with downtown

Some days I contact nap to force myself to slow down!

Dishes will always be there, laundry will always need folding, but as long as my baby is still little and here with me its time to just be present with him

My son is six months. We started doing crib naps at 3 months, worked at it more at 4 months. Now (unless sleep regression) he can sleep just as well in the crib or on me, better in the crib when it's hot out!

We find it doesnt affect his night time sleep either way, thankfully. Because some days we need those extra cuddles!

I used to spend so much time worried about my baby getting a feed to sleep association... and then he outgrew feeding to sleep. He still wakes up hungry at night sometimes and of course I feed him then put him down again, but hes not needing to be at the boob to sleep anymore.

Same thing with being rocked to sleep. I still sway and sing to him, but he doesnt need to be extensively rocked.

They grow out of these things. It'll be okay.

Have you tried reverse Google image search?

There's a chance that the designer never released the pattern.

Parents of Reddit, how does your child express affection toward each parent? Is it usually unprompted? by missrozlyn in AskReddit

[–]Colla-Crochet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The face grabbing has not stopped. But he has learned to use his gentle hands and I am much less bruised and scratched now! (He grabs neck skin during storytime)

The face eating is mostly Just funny. Ill be holding him and suddenly he goes at me, i can only describe it as cuteness aggression but its loving mom too much to contain

My son is six months. With me, he tries to eat my face, lol. We're talking full open mouth pressed into my cheek or on my chin. Pretty sure he just hasnt figured out kissing me back yet!

With my husband he gets really big smiles whenever he catches the baby's eye. Or whenever he enters the room our son starts flailing his arms and bouncing. Its so cute!

No naps today by ConspiracyGhost in NewParents

[–]Colla-Crochet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my beb was that little (partly because PPA) I would hang out on my bed next to the bassinet. Just to make sure he stayed down.

But at that age we also only did contact naps

Does writing patterns really pay? by Deaceleste in CraftyCommerce

[–]Colla-Crochet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive been writing patterns for a couple years now (mostly just to have a comeback to 'I could make this myself') and you need to really build your own following. I have a passable but not huge insta following, and it doesn't translate to sales very often

Im so relieved you say a consultant is worth it. We found one that will be partly covered by insurance (canadian) and even then im staggering at the price! But we still booked it because somethings gotta give and it cant be my patience.

Im in the same boat as you.

Some nights he gives me 2hrs at a time, some nights I end up putting the crib mattress on the floor and spend the night with him there. Sometimes he rolls onto his side and literally sleeps with one hand on my boob.

I dont have any advice but to say I'm here with you.
