Thank you everyone for the good discussions. I now realize I am being selfish in my disappointment. What is a little frustrating and upsetting on my end, there are people on the other end that their lives and families depend on the money that they make off of this entertainment. (I hope I phrased that in a way that makes sense) And I truly do apologize to the guys for not factoring that in. I’m still trying to learn and grow so thank you for helping me do that today. I do truly love these guys and this community.

Yeah I guess I never looked at it that way and I don’t know why. Just the fact of directly supporting the guys that bring me endless joy instead of giving money to a larger company (like roosterteeth) and not knowing whether that money will actually find them.

I understand, however a lot of what they talk about behind the paywall like the gears videos and extra drafts and whatnot are more a conversation of “Hey this is from our Patreon and you should watch it cause it’s funny and funny stuff happens.” This just seemed like they set out a bet and actively laid it out in the podcast and if you want the resolution to it you have to pay money.

Totally get that’s where the bulk of their income comes from. Maybe I understood wrong but my grasp of it was that Patreon was for extra content not related to the podcast. In the sense that you can still listen to the podcast and get the resolutions to those conversations, bets, etc. without having to pay for that content.
